I tried with this one on multifeed nothing. First i bought the wrong one 18,2 Oscilator, then a friend moded it to 17,2ghz but nothing on 220cm. Perhaps the remode setup is not made correct. First of all is this a LNB for offset or prime focus dish? If it is suitable for offset and the signal is weak it is normal all to be zero quality signal or the second reason wrong modding the original 18,2ghz LNB to 17,2 ghz oscilator freq. I checked both 39E 42E the L R plate is in the LNB, i rotated it but still absolutely nothing on 17,2ghz. What ideas you have? I suppose i have to buy 17,2ghz original after a single test on offset dish.

Exactly, it's made for an offset antenna. The 19.2-20.2 GHZ range is also not the right one. Everything has to go down 1 GHZ. I don't know if this LNB can also be converted. Is it a crystal PLL or one with a resonator pill? I would test it first in the area for which it is made. You need a PC card for this because you don't see much with the receiver. Then you can first say whether the LNB is working at all.

I use Inverto Ka 16E 7E on enigma receiver and there is no any problem. Perhaps it is not modded correctly, after a test on an offset dish and if there is still no signal, i have to buy the right one from the same manifacturer 18,2 - 19,2ghz.

Myself and other forum members have obtained and used in the past a very similar if not identical internal pcb lnb unit (not the feed) that was painted white and was used on the Hughes Ka Broadband system, they were labelled 18.30 - 18.80 GHz coverage but would actually go a bit higher and they were a DRO design.
Re: for Offset or PF use for the type of cone feed supplied with the lnb, we have used this lnb/feed on both types of dishes and couldn't determine any performance difference.
Re: modding the unit you have - how confident are you that the mod was successful ? usually pcb track and filter strips will be different from the next model down or up for a Ka unit, was an accurate new LO frequency given and any pictures or documentation given describing what the 'mod' entailed in detail.
Have you any way of testing the current draw to give a rough idea that the lnb is functioning, for a DRO unit like the one you have should be around 107mA with an 18v supply.
Re: not seeing any results - Are you using the lnb at 'focus' on the dish? , finding and locating Ka signals on the dish from the satellite can be a bit more difficult than Ku, are you have not just missed the satellite.
Good luck with it anyway.

I put it on the dish the way i showed in the photo, they did not gave anything else. I am going to test on offset 80cm in the focus, out of the focus next to the central ku band lnb where i usually put c band lnbs and i tested the unit today the same way 220cm PF, absolutely nothing on oscilator frequency 17,2. I tested more on 42E rather than 39E, i suppose that 42E is stronger. At the time of purchase i was misleaded by the frequency options before confirming the purchase i had 2 optiona - 17,2 and 18,2 and i clicked on 18,2 thinking that is the satellite frequency but in fact i should have clicked on 17,2 because they sell showing not the sat freq but the oscilatoe freq and afterwards i received something that i did not need. Then i asked a friend to mode it for 17,2 ghz and this is the final result today.

Ok thanks, I forgot to mention before that i use a 1.2 Gibertini for my multi Ka lnb set up and over the last few weeks i have noticed that the signal levels from 42East Ka have not been as strong and i really need to go up to around 1.8 mtr for solid results from 42East Ka from my location in central UK.

Thanks, now i understood - first test on offset then if there is still nothing i am buying real 17,2 oscilator LNB. What about 39E signal?

Although the 39E footprint shows reasonable strength for my area i still find it too weak for reliable reception on the 1.2 Gibby :(
