I'm trying to setup my system but have a mountain behind the house with a borderline line-of-sight at 35 degrees of elevation to hit the Astra position.

I've been able to download channels but can't view them - Does downloading them mean my line of sight is OK and therefore something else is wrong with the setup?

Cheers,

Andy

Which Astra satellite are you trying to receive?

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

If you have them, then you have signal.

Problem is if there is part of the dish obscured, or the transmission is bouncing off the mountain as well as coming in directly, then you will get little or no useful signal.

You will almost certainly have to reposition the dish

Thanks for the replies - I'm trying to hit Astra 2A/B 28.2

Lat 46, Long 12

I had it at 157 degrees magnetic azimuth and 34.7 elevation

And what size of dish are you using?, that a very important detail from Italy where your profile says you are.
Also what channel were you trying to open? was it a FTA transmission?
