I'll have a look for a more specific Section to move this to, later on.

Failing which, I'll ask Admin to create one.

Ok. Moving to "Linux Receivers General" (Well, Android is Linux based, after all!)

Working extremely well on Ka off the 1.2 so far....

... I was going to ring you but thought others would be interested in your answers :)

LO & tuning range parameters menu structure, especially on Ka LO input & Extended Cband LO. Will it let you input the various different ones say 17.250 / 20.250 / 5.750&5.76 and actually scan and display the proper frequency range properly ? unlike one or more of the Technomate rx's which say they do but actually dont!. ...... is it still limited to doing full band scanning as the old A3 ... ie: can you do user specified scan ranges like on my TM5402 M3 ?.
Crack on

Not tried the user LO yet, but it is there and is configurable. Still the same on blind scan, but it's that damn fast it is not a problem, it found some low SR stuff on 16E earlier. Settings are there for 4K resolution, but when I tried the the Astra 4K demo channel the picture was blocky, so it would seen it won't downscale to 1080p. Maybe if anyone owns a 4K TV and has this box they can report back on that.

On my old LG 1080p TV I am getting the Hispasat 4k tests fine for some reason but not the Astra ones. I thought you needed a 4k TV to view 4k !

I don't find the blind scan that fast really compared to other boxes I have like the X2 Premium HD, shame you can't select a range for SR and /or frequency also...

We need to get some updates for all this !

Wow getting the TRT 4k channel Turksat fine* also on my HD TV, obviously some downscaling doing it's job well, The A3 at £69 was such a bargain really, love the menu graphics, channel banners etc - if it decodes 4k then can it do 4.2.2 feeds I wonder ?

It makes me want to get a cheapo 4 tv really, a Panasonic 40 inch or something is it worth it with this size ?

* Not exactly fine but perfectly viewable with some bad bleeding with the colour etc...but far better than no decoding anyway

Well, it's certainly a lot faster than any of the TM boxes I have!

Did you try the 4K on the new box?
Yes Chris, but only the Astra promo channels which it doesn't like very much, very blocky. Will try others as Sat TV fan seems to have had some success with them.

Had a play this morn...Another TM type bug, it lets you enter the LOF well enough (17350) for the Hughes, but won't blind scan in, or even if you enter the transponder manually, it still won't scan anything in. Hopefully this might get fixed..

I had an Echolink-777 SD receiver many years ago that did not have a Blind Scan according to the specification but I discovered that if I did a Network Scan it found all the SCPC feeds on 10 east so it did have a Blind Scan but no start stop limit for the ku band,

Maybe something in the search selection of the Amiko A3 will trigger the Blind Scan ?
