End of the road for Amos 2

There is some misleading info on the spacecom site they now attribute the old Amos-2 European footprint to Amos-3 @ 4 west this is very misleading as most of the European transponders cannot be received here in the East of England with a 100cm dish since the demise of Amos-2..

Since the demise of Amos-2 we can no longer receive the Free to Air Tv from 4 west with a 100cm dish here in the East of England,
The footprint that you give for Amos-3 is not correct Satellite Coverage Maps | AMOS by Spacecom this is the old Amos-2 map,

This is the Amos-3 map no-3 FlySat Amos 2/3 @ 4° West Beams

As you can see we cannot receive this weak signal will you be doing anything to improve the signals from 4 west in the future ?

To me, the new Europe beam map for Amos-3 at Spacecom, doesn't look like an exact copy of the old Amos-2 beam...
So maybe, the Amos-3 beam has been (or soon will be) slightly adjusted to the West?

I hope it is. I am barely getting anything from Amos-3, unless it's a clear day - that Amos-3 footprint is total BS.

Flysat shows TVH 11590h on Amos 3. I have been getting various strength on this channel from 6 db some days to 12db tonight. I do have to move the dish west to get the 10.723v test card with 7db still. Very wierd!

TLE confirmation that Amos-2 has left 4.1°W on about 2 April.
Moving West 1° per day, now near 6.5°W.

Amos-3 remains at 4.1°W, and Amos-7 at 3.9°W.

These are the channels that I cannot receive with a 100cm dish here in the East of England:-
11140 H 30000 Amos-3 European beam
11175 H 30000 Amos-3 European beam

When these channels were on Amos-2 I was able to receive them with a 90cm dish but I get no signals with a 104cm dish now from these new transponders.

These two are in the pits now for me as well. I have merely 12db on these, whereas 17db is the norm for my region and according to the footprints. Perhaps more co-inteference? The biggest problem with the satellite is the shitty frequency plan, why is it so hard to co-ordinate with 5W? TVH suffers the most from this!
Perhaps William you could ask them this question too, in a future email?

Hi Will, those channels have been moved from Amos2 to Amos3 which has slightly lower coverage over East UK ( 2-3d therefore a larger antenna will most probably do the job ( 1.8m to be on the safe side ) //////////

OK, William, you can get your 1.8m when I get the 2.4m I will need for Amos!

1.8m is certainly not enough for most non-Europe wide transponders. T-home is fine but all encrypted. Ukrainian channels comes in on a good day but not much headroom for rain. And the fact that Amos-3 is at a different position from Amos-7 means I have to nudge the dish to get the best signal from each

Thanks for your reply but I think the problem is a combination of the current frequency plan & the beam aiming further east than it used to,

When the new frequencies started on Amos-3

I was able to receive them with a 80cm dish then 3 days later they vanished due to the beam now favouring the East,

The trouble is with these high tech computer designed satellites the signal roll off is far more rapid than the older satellites,

I would need planning permission for a 180cm dish as 99% of my viewing is ok with a 100cm dish,
