Amos-2 has been retired

Why they have moved the footprint further East is a mystery to me as they will get far more viewers if they moved the footprint further West as per the Amos-3 map issued on their site :rolleyes:

Most of the other channels are available on Astra 4A with a 75cm dish :)

The 2nd map does not work for me either I think this is for the failed launch satellite Amos-6 map below:-

Yes with the 100cm dish one FTA transponder when the weather permits,
+ one encrypted transponder 11568 H 15000 S2 8PSK 68% signal quality.

My strongest transponder @ 4 west is the test card on 10722 V 30000.

I am beginning to think from the replies here that Amos-3 has a problem with power output as some of the European beams are weak in all corners of the footprint that was not evident with Amos-2,

Amos-7 is a bit of a disappointment but it was not designed for what it is currently trying to do.

I am delighted to see a satellite operator so helpful!
It would be great if they can supply the frequency plan (with transponder layout) of Amos-7 (AsiaSat 8).
I have asked Asiasat, but they anwered I should do such request at Spacecom...

That sounds like a good idea why not use the links in this thread to send your request.
 
These two are in the pits now for me as well. I have merely 12db on these, whereas 17db is the norm for my region and according to the footprints. Perhaps more co-inteference? The biggest problem with the satellite is the shitty frequency plan, why is it so hard to co-ordinate with 5W? TVH suffers the most from this!
Perhaps William you could ask them this question too, in a future email?
+1 for that... I just thought if they increase Amos3 coverage to west it could be even bigger issue with 5w if they continue use 11450-11700H... In this document http://amos-spacecom.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/AMOS-3_Brochure.pdf it says Amos3 has full 10700-11700 H/V range for Europe beam i guess there is possibility to use non-5W frequencies...

The footprint map says it all Amos-3 coverage ends at the Netherlands & Belgium for 100cm dish as this satellite has computer designed down link transponders the signal roll off is severe at the end of the footprint :(
 
Hi to you all at Spacecom Maybe you can get your Technicians to move the Amos-3 satellite beam a little to the West as per your map on your Amos site then you will get a lot more viewers as this a higher populated area than the East,

Will , the antenna on board is not steerable therefore the satellite itself has to be repointed … as most of our customers are located within CEE I don’t think this will be supported by our marketing team …… //////

Will you please update the Amos-3 map on your site as the current one is misleading then everyone will all know what size of dish to set up here in the UK to continue receiving your TV from 4 west,
As the current map here Satellite Coverage Maps | AMOS by Spacecom show a 45 dBW for a 85-105 cm dish for the South of England,

The excellent feedback you have given to me that I have passed on to our members suggests a 180cm dish,

As for the frequency plan unfortunately we usually do not share this information .

As for the antenna size the 1,8m I suggested is based on theoretical assessment , you can try to receive it with a smaller one (assuming low margin) . Usually it is easy to make those tests even with a small antenna ( even when the receiver is not locked) but you will need a spectrum analyzer to take Carrier to Noise measurement .

As for the frequency plans, it's clear now the policy at Spacecom has changed indeed, until several years ago their online Amos satellite handbooks were very detailed!
Anyway I think I know the plan of Amos-7 already (see my web page), but some transponders at Flysat/Lyngsat are not in line with this.

The page is filled with links. So many in fact, the W3C Link Checker can't handle it no more, and times-out!
