Amos 2 / Hebrew / Israeli

Hiya,

After the launch of Amos 2 in Israel I was wondering if anyone has managed to view this in the UK yet?

Also does anyone know any hebrew / Israeli channels I can pickup ?

I currently only have a standard Sky Digital system but want to install something to run along side it for Israeli / Hebrew channels.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

No, they are all Middle East beam, so you would need a big dish to receive.

Does anyone know if a 2.4 metre would work for the FTA channels in the Northwest of England? Most are on the Middle east beam, has anyone received these in the UK. I am supposing that it will be a bit like receiving Astra 2D in Cyprus.

The footprint is very tight to the middle east, a 2.4 will not see them at all, just to give you an idea my 3.8 does not receive the digital Middle east transponders at my Belgium home which is already slightly further south by around 4 degrees.

if I review in "analogue" mode the transponder with maximum threshold (3db)then I can only just recieve the analogue transponder signal. See photo

With the footprint and Digital Fec rate applied on this satellite the costs alone and space required I would suggest that it is not possible.
