In my man cave, amongst other crap, I have an ancient JVC "record player", which I am happy with. This feeds just as ancient JVC stereo power amp, which I use purely as a pre-amp for the player, which in turn feeds a Kenwood AV 6080 receiver, which then feeds two Gale "monitor" speakers. I would like to potentially replace the the JVC pre-amp and the Kenwood receiver with a single unit, though happy to entertain other ideas. My dream setup would be the Technics SE A900S / SU C800U combo (mainly for the needles!) but that's way too expensive for my pocket...and it doesn't have optical input :( But, on a budget of £100, I have managed to pick up the following kit from local Facebook buy/sell group: Onkyo TX-SR608 Sony STR-DG910 Samson Servo 240 Studio Amplifier (?) Arcam AVR100 Sony STR-DA5200ES (has phono stage input!) Cambridge Audio Azur 640R None of them came with any remote controls, sadly, so I would have to purchase some or use a universal remote. Only really need it for volume control, power and changing sources. I have no need for an all singing, all dancing one - just need a decent sound for the two speakers. Sooo.... do I use one of the above or do I sell them all (hopefully at profit) and but the Technics setup?
