Analise DVB tables and descriptors

38.5ºN, 0.5ºW
Someone is sending me a DVB-Sky 960. What software do I need to display DVB tables and descriptors.

Can you please post some screen grabs so I can see what information is displayed.
 
i am using Transedit which is a part of Dvbviewer Pro and recommend it.

if Transedit is not enough for you try TSReader from www.coolstf.com which have much more option

Transedit does not read enough data.

For example: Freesat PID 3841 (0xf01) contains the logical channel number info in descriptor 0xd3.

But Transedit does not display this descriptor.

What program displays it, preferably without having to buy software?
 
Has no one got recommendations what I can use.

I tried TSReader but it is not compatible with the DVBSky S960.

Calculus and Logarithmic equations! Coupled with some Simultaneous Equations should resolve the problem! ( And some basic Binary may help! )

Are you sure about 0xd3 or do you mean 0x83?

My local cable provider uses logical channel numbers. They are shown in Transedit. You have to examine the NIT :)

Freesat descriptor is 0xd3 in PID 3841. 0x83 is a common LCN descriptor so Transedit shows it, as does DVBInspector. 0x83 can be in the NIT or BAT.

I think the Dektec card can give all the PIDs, here is a short test
I wasn't looking to buy a device. I just want software to go with my DVBSky S960 that can read these PIDs, like the Freesat PID.
 
On 11426H it is in PID 3002. On all other Freesat transponders it is in PID 3841. And by Freesat transponder I mean any of the 36 transponders listed in the NIT on 11426H.

Freesat uses PID 3841 as BAT on these transponders because Sky is already using 0x11 for its SDT/BAT.
 
You're right :) The problem seems to be be that this is private information with user definded descriptors. All analysers that I know only deal with DVB descriptors. Even Dektec doesn't know.
