Ey, on bskyb how can i get rid of that annoying red button blob that appears on most channels with interactive capabilities, i know pressing backup removes it until the adverts but i want it gone gone gone forever! :P

There is a little device which plugs into the 2nd RF outlet wich effectively does that, can't remember where I saw it though.

PS. Will move this to the Sky section.

The device is about the only effective solution, however one problem with it is that all it does is press backup every minute or so, so personal planner autoviews can be cancelled by it.

Also if you are in an interactive feature or a menu when it sends the signal it could be annoying.

It used to be that if you pressed red then backup very quickly the red dot would not return until you changed the channel (rather than after ads etc) but I think that stopped working a few software versions ago.

:( ok i guess im gonna have to just make sure i press backup a lot heh

use a frequency website and manually tune the wanted channel in using services, 4, 4, then when channels are tuned go into services, 6 then watch them, no red dot no more. no big adverts come up either saying PRESS RED TO ORDER BOOK and such like

If, by chance, you were thinking of getting SKY+, then watching everything a few seconds behind the live transmission on "live pause" will do it.

In any case, if you have SKY+ you will rarely watch anything live anyway and the interactive prompts don't appear on recordings.
