Another T90 Project

Am about to re-visit my underused Toroidal 90cm. I'm really bad at maths and bricolaje,-sorry, DIY, but from what I've been reading the central LNB should be 19ºE, rather than 1ºW, which is what I have now. I'm situated 7.2º West of the Greenwich Meridian, and I'm interested in satellites from 5ºW to 28ºE, so if I've understood things correctly the birds would be in a descending line from 5west down to 28east, so it should be easy, shouldn't it?

PS My wife has a lovely little digital camera so maybe I'll be able to upload some pics!

2Hughes! Central LNB could be pointed to any satellite depending on range of satellites you are aiming on.

I'm guessing you are somewhere near Lugo.

You need the dish skewed around 105º on the scale and centred on 11.5ºE (imaginary). If you put 2 LNBs side by side right in the centre one will be on Hotbird (13ºE) and the other on Eutelsat W2A (10ºE). Then pop your other LNBs on and fine tune it.

Found new Thread late last night. I did indeed manage a little gardening on the dish farm behind the house on Sunday morning after Saturday night's torrential rain here in Lugo. Tried to locate 9ºE and 13ºE with LNBs either side of central 0 position, LNB plastic holders touching, or nearly touching. Couldn't get a signal at all, so I placed one of the LNBs dead centre and connected basic sat beeper and Vantage receiver. Immediately found a signal and blind scan revealed it to be 7ºE. So far so good! I decided to keep 7ºE as my central point, at least for the moment, but was quite disappointed with quality readings of 52-56%. I couldn't better
this with any amount of fine tuning of dish position, or sliding LNB nearer or further away from reflector. However I discovered that by forcing the LNB to look about 10º upwards, quality shot up to 98%. Maybe the plastic LNB holders don't have enough adjustment, or have warped in the sun. I quickly got 13ºE and 10ºE, but not 9ºE! I then ran out of time, but am happy with results so far.

Two things to check
1. Subreflector is mounted correct ? Drainhole down.
2. Plastic LNB holders is mounted correct , i know people who has turned them 180 deg wrong, (no no it wasn't me)
