Hi friends,

Earlier we were able to get 7A in India now after the migration we lost hold of 7A transponders, is there any chance Hotbird 9 signal will be increased.

Cheers

Not a chance. If anything its more likely to be decreased slightly once shes in had a few weeks in full service and they have a better idea of the exact area being covered.

After all - why run the satellite at 100% power if 95% is sufficient? Lower power means the satellite electronics array isnt stressed so much.

Coverage will settle down to be more or less the same as as the theoretically identical Hotbird 8.

You also need to remember it was a happy accident that you got any reception off Hotbird 7A - India is outside its official service area. You have had three or four years of extra reception as a bonus to India.

You might get some coverage from 9E in a few weeks time, although the current set of channels on 9E isnt terribly exiting.

lets wait for 7A to start transmitting from 9E with side LNB we also get 13E and Eutelsat w3 @ 7E & 25.5 so 4 satellite with one 10 feet or 12 is not a bad deal
