Hi guys...
I'm having a very annoying problem at the moment..every time I log onto my laptop it keeps trying to connect to the internet and no matter how many times I cancel the action it happens again within seconds..I've recently loaded Kaspersky AV and clone DVD do you think either of these may be the problem???

If you are using IE5 or 6, then in your internet properties click on the 'never dial a connection' box then save and re-boot, and see if it does it again

Could I suggest you obtain a malware scanner and remover such as spybot or adaware or one of the many available as your browser may have been hijacked. You should have one anyhow these days as everone seems intent on ruining your pc these days.
 
Load up any spyware from a CD burnt from another PC. Dont try to connect to do so.

Sounds like you have a dialer somewhere in the system, If its one or more trojans, then if you have Win ME or XP, you are going to have a fun time removing them.
