Any lnb test reviews lately?

The new Premium Inverto LNB arrived today. Firstly, extreme heavy rain today and roads flooded. So a nice day for testig! Compared to my best LNB, the ALPS it gives 10% raise in quality on the difficult BBC signal. Others have an increase from 50 to 80% in quality. Not bad in heavy rain!!! This is so far the best LNB I have. It looks like my bad weather problem is no longer a problem on BBC. I can recommend this product, price is not bad either. I ordered it from a german seller. The front of the LNB is slightly larger than normal LNBs. If you dont want to install a bigger dish this migh do the trick for you.

The PLL lnb was a good one. I have retired the other ones I have. I bought a used dish and got some "new" LNBs along with it. I noticed a SHARP, it could be a winner to looking at the datasheet. Made in Japan!

I assume the canal digital may be of good quality.

I am not going to buy more for now, but a test of the sharp lnb would be interesting as this is PLL.

Have never tried any of those LNBs so can't comment. Just because the Sharp is PLL doesn't mean it's going to be better than all the non-PLL LNBs

Please can you post a side by side photo of the new Inverto vs Black Ultra, to compare the length of the necks.

Take note the diametre of the funnel is slightly larger, say 5mm. But I guess you may find exact measurements in the data sheet. I saw it locally for only £15, but they were sold out. I could not wait for delivery, so I ordered from Germany via e-bay. Price is next to nothing for an upgrade

The new Premium inverto LNB is the new black ultra in my view i look forward to other members results. Its maybe just the LTE filter that makes the difference.

Golden media 202+ just arrived and quickly fitted (can't miss Countdown!). Getting high band channels, Sky news,Sky Arts, Pick, that were missing while using IBU to the Zgemma H9S. TM nano m3 saw them though.

Slightly off topic but...I intend to take my 1.2M dish off the motor for the winter. However, I still have the very first small dish I motorised when I began the hobby and I'd like to put that on the motor instead. It may be an interesting comparison to try the IBU and this Premium Inverto on the small dish. All depends on weather and time issues..

Going by my experience this week one cannot guarantee that the IBU will give better results than a GM202+ with a particular receiver on a particular channel.
We previously blamed my lack of Sky news etc. on the Zgemma H9S being "deaf" on the high band. How can we explain changing to the GM202+ letting me see Sky news? Was the IBU too strong at some frequency that "deafened" the Zgemma tuner? Is the GM202+ more responsive at 12070H than the IBU? Is there a spectrum analyzer for enigma2?

I improved the 201+ readings by pushing the Lnb forward as far as it will go then the rain came so

From my testing there is little gain in adjusting the neck of the PLL LNB. I could take it one cm forward or backwards with no big difference in signal. Little to gain here. I guess because once the signal enters the LNB it does not matter so much as long it's in center, so you should have no worries.

 

[Channel Hopper]

Signal perhaps, but it can with a matched feed ( ie. elliptical to elliptical, remove over illumination and background interference.

Many dish manufacturers of offset dishes will have a focal point that under illuminates, because of the lack of matched feed or the regions where sales using generic LNBFs matter most means they just don’t care.

At least the Inverto Black Ultra is in a more normal position & not fully forward in the Lnb holder,
Tests with Golden Media 201+ & Inverto PLL improved signals where there was none with the reduced length Lnb arm.
All 3 Lnb's performed very well some variations in readings are probably due to weather conditions.

[OP Gibertini 100 XP Lnb Arm reduced in length by 23mm for test-2**& all proceeding Lnb tests]

At least the Inverto Black Ultra is in a more normal position & not fully forward in the Lnb holder,
Tests with Golden Media 201+ & Inverto PLL improved signals where there was none with the reduced length Lnb arm.
All 3 Lnb's performed very well some variations in readings are probably due to weather conditions.

[Last test with TM6902HD OP Gibertini 100 XP + Inverto PLL the SQ is lower but just as strong a signal & is a more realistic
scale than the SX88 series.]

What was your conclusion - was the older \ normal IBU better than the new PREMIUM PLL one?

The older IBU was better overall with the shortened Lnb Arm.
