Ive been poking around my old receivers and found a long forgotten dragon cam (3.02) in the old Echostar. Do they have any use at all these days before it gets slung into the spares bin.

Think Ive got an ancient seca/aston cam somewhere as well

:D

I think Dragon Predator will open some Biss channels, haven't bothered myself with them though.

Sad to see an era fading away to a distant memory of all that sodding about we all once enjoyed. It kept forums busy with mods ever on the lookout for those offending posts with keys! :)

Something that a lot of ip box owners will never appreciate! ;):D

If its the Black labeled Aston CAM you can file that in the spares bin too, I've got one & it wouldnt open the channels on my Cyfra+ card.

Yes, Dragon Cams still open 5 East, and they don't change codes too often.

Ideal for boxing fans.

That would be none and no.

I havent heard of anyone opening anything on a dragon for years. This thread is from 2011 - back in the good old days of multiple channels being easily opened on keys & patches.

The Dragon Cam was a multi cam, so probably can still open a few channels, mainly BISS, like ESPN 901, and 902, 15W, and CW, but not a lot, and most modern receivers can open these anyway, without the need of a cam.
I haven't used any of my cams, including the Dragon Cam, for years.
You might be better off getting a new receiver, maybe an Enigma 2 receiver, and learning how to use it, as there are some good, cheap, versatile, receivers about now.

They still work with old white Freesat from Sky cards - but you don’t get much. London Live, Local TV, Insight HD, and Yesterday+1. Sony Movie Channel was another, but has just gone FTA.

London Live is encrypted on satellite ?
Why ?

All the ultra local stations that launched onto satellite were encrypted to ftv level - mainly for programmes rights reasons although I have seen some suggestion that it also meant they had to adhere to less stringent ad break rules.....

London Live isnt going to last much longer in its present form anyway - its in financial trouble from the reports Ive seen in the last couple of weeks..
