Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone has fitted a Ka-Band LNB / feed to their motorised dish, and is looking for downlinks?

regards,

Paul.

For what other reason might somebody fit an LNB ?

Perhaps for solar noise measurements, as opposed to coherent detection of downlinks?

Paul.

The average motorised dish really wouldn't be of much use for solar noise detection (well maybe twice a year for a couple of hours).

Don't know about fitting a Ka band LNB but a dirty big pidgeon just fitted an enormous big SH-1T to my LNB a couple of hours ago.And heres garyg and the gang worrying about rain drops and rain fade.I had a "shit" reception on 26e and went out to have a look.Thought it might have been down to a solar flare but it wasn't down to anything celestial rather something a little more earthly.A ladder, some soap and a bit of elbow grease and all is well again.Very tech solution indeed.

The problem round here is the blackberry season. Loads of birds (especially the two families of magpies nesting in this garden) dropping partly digested purple excrement all over the place, including the main dish reflector.

The decking next door is a real mess as they use the guard rails as observation points to check when the cat food is out.
