1. Can a Astoncrypt version 1.0 CAM be upgraded to version 1.3 ?

2. If it can be upgraded can I do this with funcards or should I use a cas interface?

3. If it can be upgraded will I be able to view mediagaurd 1 & 2 or just mediaguard 1?

4. Dose any one know if I can upgraded the cam via satellite? if so what frequency & satellite do I need to be pointing at?

5. Where can I find the files to carry out this upgrade?
I've found some on this website http://www.lefdata.com/satellite/cam/ci.html But I don't have a laptop with a pcmcia slot that is running win 95 or 98. Not to sure what I should be doing really....:confused:

I've been using Wallbanger on Viaccess 1 & writing to funcards with a infinty usb card programmer in the past but I want to play around with the other encryption systems and try and learn some more.

Sorry for all the questions but this seems to be the best place to ask them. Thanks for any help you can give me.:)
 
The site you have already looked at is considered as the CAM bible by most, so if it doesn't say you can do it on there, it probably isn't possible.

As far as I know, you need a Laptop, or you need to take the CAM apart and use a chip programmer. :)

Ok who knows how to use this Xaload11 program ??? I'm running it on win 98 and at the moment I keep on getting an error msg "cam initialization error"

I dont think its reading the cam, has any one eles had this problem???
