I always find it's much easier to set these up at ground level in comfort, Using a vertical pole on the ground, and keeping the pole vertical on the wall. Once its up on the wall, only the dish needs a minor bit of tweaking.
No satellite gear here, but at my parents' house there is:
Konig 35cm camping dish (horrible, too small)
80cm Silvercrest (lidl)on 13E and 19.2E and a Technomate 5300D+ USB Super.
I find a simple sat beeper useful for finding the correct spot roughly (takes a bit of practice but...) but I do have the advantage of being able to watch the TV while I align... (the dish is on a pole out behind the living room so I just look straight through the window.) The other thing I've used is _http://www.fastsatfinder.com/ but I've never got past the trial as I've found the above method works well enough.
Oh dear... I fear a divorce coming as I've just pre-ordered a Vu+ Duo receiver to put the icing on the cake. Was originally going to wait for a few months, but with hardly anyone supplying it and talks of shortages due to high demand made me bottle out
Vu+Duo and you will not regret it al all, S$Y White card and card sharing only choice is the image Pli - Vti or original and have fun with the plugin's
Good Luck and enjoy
