The Astra 1E is moving to the east for a while. Anyone knows where it is moving to? To 55 East, co-located with the Astra 1F?

1F is due to be replaced by a new Russian bird in the not too distant future

Okay, no official news about the 1E that you know of?

It's heading east, but where to I don't know :-confused

All this activity reminds me of the Red Dwarf Episode when Lister restored order by playing Space Snooker.

now at 44.2 moving at 1.4 per day

12 days to 28e ???????

1E is moving further East, not West.

Where on earth have you got the notion of it going to 28E from?

My guess, Astra 1E is heading somewhere near 51 East, for occasional use, as a replacement of Sirius 3 @ 51.2 East
SES says "to be relocated" about Sirius 3.

My guess was wrong  Astra 1E is already past 58 East that makes me out of ideas!

What clapped out SES birds might need backup out over the Asiatic region. ?

Although its quite possible 1E has been temporarily hired by an organisation to just occupy and "activate" an orbital slot thats close to expiring - Thaicom have done this a few times with extremely run down sats hired off other operators. In these cases theres no need to have the bird on air, just to have a nominally active satellite on the slot.

Astra 1E voyage ended at 108.3 East, next to NSS-11 and SES-7 at 108.2 East.

2.3 degrees inclined - no use as a broadcast bird with that wobble!
