Astra 2C's move to 28.2E

I guess we now just wait to see what they will actually do with it.

according to SES data 2C is on station at 28.14°E.

so we can expect illuminations any minute...

Interesting, let's see what happens over the next week or so. Perhaps a few more reshuffling between 2A and 2C with some 2A TP's offloaded?

Isn't 2A destined for service at 23.5E in due course?

Yep, according to SES but thought 2G was going to replace it first, maybe now not the case? No doubt we'll wake up one morning to discover that they have changed some TP's in the usual secretive SES way!

Any news on when channels will begin to move???

Anyone's guess I suppose, that is if anything is planning on migrating. It may just be 2C will happily sit there as backup although I'd have possibly expected to see a TP illuminated, if only for short brief testing at some point?

Center of Box info for Astra 2A ends on 21st May at the moment while other satellites have listings up to 27th May...

Could Astra 2C be brought into use within the next week or so??

Also SES's web site now lists Astra 2C at "28.2°E / 28.5°E (to be relocated)" with the same footprint map that was used at 19.2E.

Something needs to happen - the silence is DEAFENING

I assume the footprint isn't actually going to be the one listed at the moment, or people in Spain will have better signals than those in the official areas of Scotland and Ireland... :-rofl2

Here we go again . . . :-rofl2

Getting ready for a yes vote in Scotland maybe :) - BBC cant have anyone outside of Britain watching their stuff for free.

Not all because some 2A transponders aren't within the 2C spectrum.
