Astra 2E at 28.2E: General Discussion Part 1

The changes will happen during the next days. We dont know exactly what will move on which day. But we know all transponders in Band D (10.7-10.95) will move from 1N UK Spot to 2E UK Spot, and we know a lot (and very likely all) 1N Europe Beam transponders will move to 2E Europe beam. So lots of things to happen. Entertaining weeks for Sat enthusiasts ;)

I know it is all a bit unknown but does anyone have any idea when the migration will take place and so when we may lose channels? And also does anyone know what will be moving? Are there any signals we can test yet on 2E?

Can you still get BBC and ITV with that dish, they will be from the 1N UK beam?

If so, you will lose them very soon as they will probably be transferred to 2E UK beam.

I can still get them yes. So it is looking very bad for us here then.

On the BBC,ITV front I would say so, other Sky channels that were lost when 2B went should hopefully return when they transfer 1N PE beam over to 2E PE beam.

I can let you know what happens in Friday's corrie if you lose it. ;)

Could these new 12441V 22500 16APSK data transmissions be a copy of the ones from lower down the band?

at least same rf level both, 11007v and 12441V ,here.

so 12.441V is not a new 2E Europe TP, but probably also on 1N PE ?

Hmm, yeah, what about if those data transmissions are being moved up the band ready for other uses (2E?) at the bottom of the band?

it could be a copy, but that's hard to tell, as we cannot compare the actual content ( I dont even know what that data is - broadband internet ?)

12441V signal appeared today
yeah, but you have the same strength as the other TPs you said, so it probably isnt the new 2E Europe beam. Here 12.441V has a bit lower RF level than the others, but very good SNR - 18dB.

Given that these 16APSK signals are being received in Finland & Estonia, if they are coming from 2E, it seems unlikely that they are on the UK spot beam.

well that's for sure... the UK spot would be weak here too... but also the 2E Europe beam would be very weak in Finland ....

Hello to all.
12441V = 4.8db in Kiev on 180cm dish.
Maybe this is the first signal from new Astra 2E ?
