Motorized system mainly aiming @ 28.2/28.5E
Famaval 3.1m
Invacom quad

Chania Greece I get 24 reception of uk beam with 3 meter famaval. Weakest signal is around 3-4 pm

Which lnb and feedhorn are you using?
I have the same antenna and I found out that the Incacom lnb and feedhorn are giving me the best results (beating by far the Inverto Black Pro either with Iberosat or Invacom feedhorn).

Can you guys tell me which model of Invacom LNB you are using for your fringe reception with a prime-focus dish? Is it single, twin?

This one perhaps?

Input Low Band: 10.7 - 11.7 GHz
High Band: 11.7 - 12.75 GHz
Output Low Band: 950 - 1950 MHz
High Band: 1100 - 2150 MHz
Oscillation frequency Low Band: 9.75 GHz
High Band: 1100 - 2150 MHz
Noise figure High/Low Band: 0,3 dB (Typ)

I use the Invacom QDF-031 quad on a 1.8m prime focus dish as I've read the single and twin are not as good.

Does QDF-031 quad require a separate feedhorn to be attached?

I have the SNF-031 but will try the QDF-031 this week as I read it outperforms my lnb

Invacom LNBs have been an excellent buy for years because they have low noise across the band and not too high gain.

They may not be the best for long cable runs because of the lower gain than most LNBs but they won't overload some tuners at short distances.

The QDH - 031 has an integrated feedhorn.

The Inverto Black Pro is just a normal LNB intended for use with big dishes in countries where the signal is low but within the intended service area. Ultra is a step up from Pro but there is no C120 Black Ultra. There may not be enough demand for an Ultra model because in most countries there will be enough rain fade margin with the big dish.

I would spray paint the Black Pro white to keep the sun off and that will keep the noise down.

Guys I'm going to try to do the conversion of an Invert black ultra to fit my prime focus 4.2m dish and compare it with the Invacom I currently have. Any advice for the conversion process?

I don't get here too often. Being i retired from the satellite business. All free to air can be received here in Naples Italy with a 4 meter dish 24/7. There are some heavy rain wipe outs on free to air but other than that. It's ok.

Hello all. As a non techie in Prague but appreciating this forum, here is an update. After months of hardly bothering to try, I've been surprised to find that since the new year I am consistently getting perfect signal on certain Uk channels from around 21.00 to midnight CET, and this regardless of the weather. I get BBC1 and BBC2 SD, and ITV1, although the latter breaks up quicker than the BBC channels. C4 too. But never the BBC HD.
This seems to be a consistent improvement. Do you think anything can be done to further improve the window of reception of these channels?

then I get lock channels with 3m antenna (6.5-7 dB )

Well I have been getting all channels with the exception of bbc three and four hd 24/7 for about a year now here in Skalica Slovakia. (2.5m prime focus with invacom lnb) so maybe. I have found that after adding a motorised ram (up/down) alongside my existing ram that adjust the satellite position (left/right) i am able to quickly get back a good signal after high wind etc . Also the adjustments are very tiny so it would be very hard to tweek it all by hand.
