I don't see any link between the 1H movement and 2E.
SES is moving around their old inclined satellites frequently, anyway.

Only Chuck Norris can move two satellites at the same time.

cazhh, without a ;) or similar smiley in your post, I worry about what you're really thinking and can't respond to this!

That's assuming it's going that far! We'll have to wait and see.

It looks like Astra 1H has arrived at it's destination 34.5 east http://www.flysat.com/satlist.php tracking will confirm this by next week as they are currently giving a predicted location.

SES's own data has it already at 33.8:

Code:
SUBJECT: ELEVEN PARAMETER EPHEMERIS FOR Astra-1H/ 52.30 DEG. E

YEAR MONTH DAY HOUR MINUTE SECOND
2013 12 13 10 30 00

THE EPHEMERIS VALUES ARE:

LM0 LM1 LM2
DEG. E DEG/DAY DEG/DAY/DAY
33.8195 -0.5698 0.000797

What should it do at 34.5 now ?

SES Astra may have sold Astra 1H to Arabsat

Arabsat currently operates 6 satellites, at 4 orbital positions, 20°East, 26°East, 30.5°East and 34.5°East: Arabsat-5C at 20°East, BADR-4, BADR-5 and BADR-6 all co-located at 26°East and Arabsat-5A at 30.5°East.

Arabsat have not had a satellite @ 34.5 east for a while now.

Isn't Flysat just updated by people, as per kingofsat? I believe Lyngsat receive data from the Satellite operators though.

Lyngsat does indeed receive info directly from SES but I don't know of other operators though.

Leased seems more likely then.

Cheers, checked Lyngsat and it still shows 1H as moving west.

lyngsay not hurry to update list
interesting arabsat buy astra 1h
have two tp with ka band

celestrak has updated as well. The sat is already at 33E ...

I think 1H is a Hughes HS-601HP and the P could mean it's the Propane powered version.
My guess is that the jet engine is a Sievert 8842.
Amazing what you can find after a liberal dose of WD40!

Fantastic picture Waveguide.
What elements show movements on a still picture?

According to Wikipedia, 1H has an electric "Xenon ion engine XIPS" same as 2A

Let's hope no one will try now to find the engine glow in the sky.
