Some dish size that, if correct
What, you mean RimanTSS' Andrew?
Have you missed out on his hugely impressive installation in his "My SAT playground thread?"?
Then go check it out - it's what you would be happy with so close to the null...

I get 13.8dB in 11914 H with 3m dish (you have 15dB )
and not far from you ( about 150km-s NW),
but for UK Beam I got (18.02 daytime) 4.7-6dB (no lock).
Your dish is not 2E dir?

I have just scanned 28,5*E position by Enigma2 receiver. Got 792 services. Hope there are not so many transponders are missing in the list. Vertical axis is dB reading.

Yes @peeter3000 , my antenna is pointed to Astra2e @28,5*E. You are right, in fringe reception areas it is necessary to have antenna as big as possible. It is nothing to do here with pan-lid size mirror and with LNB-holder made of kitchen sponge holding LNB in the wrong place and pointing it does not matter where :-ohcrap
I started to monitor signal on transponder 10847V , recording data once per minute to see how signal level changes during the day. Will show the results tomorrow.

I got 150cm dish. BBC ITV are working 24/7

BT Sports channels dont work for few hours arround 11am

From Yesterday's night monitoring signal level changes on 10847V. Till now there are only 27 times when signal went below lock level. I suspect it could be because of bad weather conditions (rained pretty bad). Rest of the time signal is OK. Will continue monitor one more day and see will there be repetition of the periods with high and low levels. And what could be the period of those periods? 24hours?

Have a gibby 125, receiving bbc 1 NI until ~1830 CET winter weather conditions, am contemplating investing in a gibby 150, are there very big differences/signal gain to justify this swap?

Pity it ain't easy to borrow dishes for testing before buying! Can only say that going from 125 to the CM180 made all the difference here. And no more need of testing lnb's on 28e to squeeze out any few %'s, always a good (evening) signal on everything using the 180.

As an anecdote, turned my cottage's 19e 60cm towards 28e just as a experiment, adjusted it for EU beam, was quite amazed to see the UK spots coming in one after the other after approx 23.00, even the BBC HDs apearing around 24.00. Daytime tomorrow will probably be fine. I don't think any 60cm would have managed uk spots at my town house, the cottage is 20 km further west (towards Shetland), am suspecting this small placement difference (within the local probable sidelobe) made this 60cm 'nearly' work. Will maybe try later with a 90cm or 125cm.

^^^ ref. post above, had to investigate further so brought my old friend the 90cm pf out of retirement to test it on 28e at my cottage location. And brought in the VU Solo2, a better tool for fine adjustment of dish. Yesterday and today 2E uk & 2G uk staying alive (incl. the HD's) during the evening signal dip, quite amazing really, but next to no margin and 2F uk too weak (as usual). Still a very good result using only a 90cm.

Confirms the impression (from earlier testing a 60cm) of a stronger signal out here 'closer to Shetland', just 20 km west (20 km into the main uk footprint?) from my usual reception location where the 90cm was quite useless for any and every evening uk beam reception. Now watching Car SOS on More4, really enjoying that program.

Monitored 10847V whole day today, including time when solar outage took place. For "barn door" outage is taking place only 3 days, for my location 27th February-1st March. So, today outage still has some effect, but did not cause lost of lock.

how much you have level for 2E 12129 V 2/3 ? it needs 4.4dB to lock, but is UK beam. its stronger than others.

Curiosity further triggered, so brought out the 120 x 130 and got all the uk's 24\24. Incl. the difficult 2F UK which, at my other location 20km away, was impossible to get on this dish in evenings. So seems to again show that small distances in \ out of fringe \ lobe makes substantial differences.

About 2E 12129 V, always one of the strongest from 2E here. Currently 11,5 db on the vu solo2 \ 120 dish.

Strangely, clicking on that link brings me to

Can't get the Vertical Channels

don't see why??

Looks like 8 vertical tps missing between 12051 & 12441, virtually all DVB-S2 QPSK
