Apologies Huevos, I got it the wrong way round, your quite right.

How many kilometers of orbit does the satellite have to move?

..is that relevant in the testing thread?

roughly 11282km (from 43,5 ->28,2). Increasing the orbit diameter is not considered ;)

May well just be reviewing the tests before signing them off as complete, then they can move the bird.

Maybe spotted a couple of tests that needed repeating or got missed, or have been added since the original test plan was written.

ohh ok. Pretty long testing phase this time then... even though they worked through weekends, it's longer than 1N or 2F now. Toying with us ? Haha... you wish. This is a 80 million+ project, they dont care about us minions.

Hmm, 12582H & 12610V are they not in the Eutelsat 28A band? Perhaps they are planning to use those on the middle east beam?

My mistake they are currently on Astra 2F, so they must be checking some fail over transponders

Given the intensity of the tests and the frequencies possible it's fair to say this will be the main satellite on 28.2. It can provide the whole band, and all beams. 2F seems to be a kind of back up satellite compared to 2E. SES finally will be able to provide back-up capacity for most transponders, a thing they havent been able to for quite some time. 2D was without back up most of the time, and there is no backup for 2F right now. With 2E in place, almost every transponder can be illuminated by 2 different satellites at least.

And once 2G comes online then everything should be covered very well (inc the old 2D band 10.7-10.95 that 2F can't cover).
