No chance those 80 will be moving to 2E on that date
Why? BTW, just the first 16 transponders (10714 - 10936), currently covered by 1N, carry 168 services, and that's without decommissioning 2A.

Really looking forward to 11778V being on a Pan-European beam, and Sky boxes working properly for the first time ever.

Anyone tracking the beacon?

Pessimism.

Assuming the Testing is over, then we can assume from the milestones achieved by 2F that 2E will not be on station until 25/26/27/ish Nov (We don't know exactly when the transit will commence/has commenced, nor the actual speed in deg/day), which cuts it fine for getting things operational on 28th.

But let's hope they make it on time. I'd be delighted if my scepticism is proved awry!

I note that you can also receive the beacon to 11707,5 (polarity L/R).

These are the transponder that I found during testing...

ATM just adjusting altitude up.
At the moment (according to n2yo) it is just at typical Geostationary altitude. When it gets on the move it will be 50-100 km higher than the current TLE says. 35836 - 35886 km above sea level. Next TLE from Celestrack is Monday night so the only way to know anything before that is to track the beacon.

No worries folks, glad it's of use and a handy future reference for 2G. Looking at it now compared to previous weeks it does seem Astrium have pretty much tested the whole band (with the exception of the EB1 250MHz allocation).

Thanks for clearing that up @Huevos, I, remember you saying in the 2E Launch thread that TLE's are not updated at weekends (or that is how I understood it)- so does that mean N2YO are guessing? Current alt. 35790 km according to them.

Great work with the updated list. I notice that 12207 H is not there! This carried sky news as far as Cairo. Now I am not expecting much improvement in channel options on the sky platform in this part of the world but let's wait and see ....

If you are correct I will keep my subscription but 12207h was not listed. This was the sky news freq.....

Well we can guarantee you wont get any improvement in channel selection.....

Do you get anything off the new 2F European beams? If not you may get a nasty surprise when 1N is turned off.

2E will replace 1N on 28.2 - SES themselves said that last year via their facebook page when people asked about 2F.
