Some of todays quotes from the DS forum are :-

1. I've never known SES to move satellites at the weekend unless they really have too, they are 9.00-5.00 pm Monday to Friday workers

2. I would imagine with a global fleet comprised of over 50 satellites in many time zones they are actually a 24/7 operation. However I agree that moving a satellite to another location would be something requiring additional resources and expertise probably best done when staffing levels are at full strength.

I am not sure, but I don’t think SES take over the satellite until it has been moved into position by, I think, Astrium.

yep, that's correct. All the testing is done by Astrium, it's still part of the production process if you will. The satellite will have been "delivered" once it has arrived at 28.2 East. Then SES take over.
To track the beacon, we need to know the frequency...

Must be hard to sign the delivery note wearing a space suit.

Any tp with the same freq and H/V polarity can theoreticaly be a tracking beacon :-

10770H/V
10964H/V
11623V/H
11842H/V
12148V/H
12493V/H

summary of TPs with both h-v from another forum

Would you spend all that cash only to rely on a single tracking beacon?

Yes, I saw those Posts. They really haven't had much of an effort at keeping pace with events, although one or two of the contributors do so here as well.

If I wasn't persona non grata there, I might have slipped in the odd linkie to this Thread!

Mod Note: Once we have confirmation that 2E is en route, we'll close this Thread and use the General Discussion Post Testing Thread and as she reaches 28.2E we'll render live the Regional Reports Threads.

What we had for 2F worked pretty well, so why change a winning formula?

And thankyou to all who have contributed to this epic, both with reports, comments and even some of the off-Topic banter.

Have you tried this forum?

Was very good before it upgraded to a new format provider but now just 383 active members but the odd true pearl of wisdom can appear.
No real mention of Astra 2E yet.

I am on it. Yes, it does sometimes throw up some new information not posted elsewhere. Forum format makes it very hard to follow through and no Tapatalk.

No, but I'm aware of it. I spend far too much time here to have any spare for other Forums! That said, I think one or two of our Staff here are on there as well.
