As per solly's Post in the Launch Topic 2E is now trackable and is currently reported to be at 64E.

Further Tracking reports and any information pertinent to the forthcoming Tests should now be Posted here, please.

Either the TLE's are out of date or it is still in transfer orbit.

Any updates?

Not into Tracking myself, but always happy to hear the interpretations of others.

(Although today's events will likely be dominated by EPG remapping in the wake of the Transponder shuffling on the current Birds)

From what I've read on here n2yo is a bit late in updating but according to them, 2E is only about 600 km under geostationary orbit and at 23.9E, though travelling at 1km per sec...

Yes, I gather that "Real-time" arguably isn't!

Getting quite close would seem to be a fair interpretation ............

Think we would need reports only separated by two or three sub regions.

But I hope that we keep the same range of threads, for region specific debate, as we have for 2F.

I should think we'll replicate that after Testing is over >> It wasn't perfect but it did the job well enough and most Members seemed happy enough. It also helped Analoguesat & Chums with picking out salient reports for the Reception Map.

As for the up and coming Testing phase, we'll sort out any sub-Topics as the need might arise: IIRC The 2F Testing Thread got somewhat unwieldy!

One problem I thought about though was as we have more satellites with shared UK spots (2F/2E/2G) it could become confusing as to what channels are coming from which satellite. Would it eventually make sense to have "UK Spot" threads for each area rather than multiple threads for each satellite once the initial excitement of the new satellite launches are over?

Right, she's nigh on station but we don't know when either the Bird or the SES/Astrium bods will be ready, willing and able, but would those with beady eyes and a keen interest give us real-time info just as soon as any transmissions are detected?

We won't run a book on SES rostering and shift patterns!
