11222H is the weakest transponder here. I see no change.

eurobird it move astra 2e
to spot beam or pe beam ?
I'm not sure anyone here really knows for sure what will happen or when.

Personally, I don't think we'll see any changes until 2G is launched but I could be wrong...

I think only 2F and 2G have any real capacity for 11200-11450 in Europe/UK which is why I don't think we'll see much movement before 2G is in place but I guess there is a chance they'll move everything over to 11450-11700 before 2G arrives.

Location - Savoie, French Alps 45.6°N 6.8°E. Old Sky 60cm dish - actual size approx 60x70cm.
Update. Heavy snow (and probably thick cloud cover) at midday today. Was getting (very) slight signal drop outs with Ѕky box - was not able to do a full test with the VU+ Uno.

Sorry for the non-technical report, need more time and another dump of snow to check everything properly.

Theres a report from not too far from you saying things are ok on an78cm dish so you might want to just put a bigger dish up. But first check the alignment of your existing dish

Or go for the iptv route!

Here gusty winds hitting dish. 100 km NW of Munich
HD channels broke at 19.00 but by going to bbc 1 east and bbc2 wales or scotland stayed with good signal 7dB all night apart from blips when the wind rocked the dish
however BBC 3 & 4 too poor to live with!

So really on the edge for SD 7 x 24, but HD is 7 -> 19.00

Realise I can probably put a 1.5 on my balcony so might go with that.

Marp probably a 1.2m dish as a minimum, working in Grasse for me at present in 2-6mm/hr of rain.

Attached is file of data comparing 1.0 with 1.2 with 1.5m dishes in rain and clear skies. The 1.0 is a Casto special the 1.2 and 1.5 are Gilbertini’s. LNBs are Technomate, the 1.5 was tried with conventional LNB then I switched in Black Ultra with Raven Feedhorn. The mouldings on the outside of the Raven spacing ring were removed to allow optimisation of the position in the Gilbertini LNB holder. Readings obtained from Crazyscan linked to TBS5922 USB tuner. There are some results that one might not expect, as any comparison set takes about 40 mins to collect then some variation over time might explain some of it. The rain data is difficult as the rain rate varies over the 40 mins but it is an indication. Location Grasse France

@supermagagnosc ....... very interesting, but what conditions were the 1.5 Gibby test run in??? As I would like to compare to one with the 1.2 tables.
Figures would indicate 1.25 better than 1.5?????

TonyWhalley - last 4 columns all in the same conditions - clear blue sky this morning. there are some "wierd" variations and this might be due to the way sampling is done i.e. spot figure rather than an average over a time period. Conventional LNBs max out at 1.2m dishes so really the practical comparison should be 1.0/1.2 and 1.5 with Feedhorn. I included the 1.5 with conventional to satisfy myself that Feedhorn is a requirement.

All channels on 2E UK beam (i.e. BBC) received well in Avignon, France. 78cm dish.

Update: BBC 1 HD is considerably weaker than the others and it doesn't take much rain to knock it out. The other BBC channels are much better but when the rain is heavier they also go. Would think a 90cm-1m dish would ensure perfect reception in all but the heaviest rain.
