Astra 2E: Western Europe Reports

BBC HD transponders just switched to 3/4 FEC. Anyone having trouble receiving them now?

I didn't even notice before reading this...
Right now I got 13dB on 10847 (BBC 1&2 HD), and 10.8dB on 11024 (BBC 4 HD), still using that universal LNBF I mentioned before...
Signal fluctuation is very little for me on these transponders.

In Carcassonne south France,
i get 10847 45-65% jumpy (green line jumpy red line stable)
11024 32-45% jumpy (as above)
and 11123V(C4HD) 72% stable rock steady..
is that normal doctor?

All BBC (also SD)?

Or only BBC-HD?

greetz,
A33

SD:s have used FEC 5/6 for a long time. No change there.

No problem here with 10 847 V. 11 023 H has been tricky since 11 038 V was activated. Need to adjust the skew but haven´t bothered with it yet.

10847 works better now,65-70% only slightly jumpy... better propagation or increased signal?
Nice,anyway

scan the satellite 28.2 ° E completely back in
you will get a picture again on bbc etc.

Do you receive ITV HD there? In your area 1.4m Famaval was not big enough for ITV HD so I am expecting the BBC HD transponders to be the same.

QPSK 5.6 requires 6.5 dB SNR minimum.
8PSK 2/3 requires 6.6dB SNR minimum.
8PSK 3/4 requires 7.9dB SNR minimum.

Here I am getting around 12dB SNR on my 1.8m on those transponders so still got plenty in reserve.

Need to get some reports from Brian.

10847V OK with 1.1 favamal in Alicante, also with good margin

No more HD transporders available

Alicante is completely different. LP is in Torre.

He is in the province, not the city. So almost 100 km south.

Bad news in bad weather conditions, I lost 10847V 3/4.

But I still receiving all SD and Ch4HD 5/6 and Ch5HD 5/6. So, is it easier to get 5/6 than 3/4 even in HD?

Nothing to do with HD. The difference is between QPSK and 8PSK. For the same FEC, 8PSK needs at least two extra dish sizes.

In summer, change the old Gibertini130 for a second-hand Gibertini125, perfect.
I have to change some wrong lifting screws, they are clogged and I have to cut, but for family issues, in pending tasks.
When assembling and adjusting, 11053H perfect, with the storms I lost it, 11023H23000 3/4 is intermittent, at the moment it is not possible to check.
11068H23000 3/4 with fine rain well, is the most critical of all.
The rest of UK tp without problems.

Now only cloudy by Madrid, better signal and quality (13:00 Madrid)
Gibertini 125, IBU 0.2dB.

Hi
High band is a little weak for me, but overall pretty good.
Clouds and rain do not change much, unless it's heavy rain.

Turned out to be a good summer investment that old 2.4m dish, I just need to get a proper and specially cheap LNB+Feedhorn.
((if someone have a spare one to sell, Quad, Portugal or Spain, then PM me))
