Well this morning working in Tenerife but i suspect by mid day it will be off.

That is on a 2.9 meter dish, I did test on a 2.4 meter dish about an hour ago. It didn't work.

Tend to find here Satellite signal is quite a bit stronger first thing in the morning, We can pick up a few extra fringe channels very early am.

As I posted numerous weeks back, my information I've got is that the changeover for full completion will be just over a week, could be sooner for some services though. I guess SES will want to perform various measurements at their and partner teleports around Europe to ascertain the true footprint and possibly tweak slightly. Is it 2B or 2A's Txp's that are also moving to 2F, thought it was 2A's but probably wrong if you say it's 2B?

I'm sure there's people at SES scouring this and other forums for information, after all with location and dish sizes this thread also provides them with valuable information. I can just picture a few of their admin team now all sat in front of PC's hitting F5 on various forum threads collating info!! :)

i dont think anyone at SES has to sign up here to find out whats up ... its 2B moving to 2F ... i think D band will go fri/sat night ....they want 1N at 19E ASAP

Doesn't sound too good for the majority of those with 1.35m dishes as far East of the Canaries in Lanzarote.
1N only just scrapped though, LNb and receiver dependent.
have you got a large dish report from LZ ??

im only guessing and someone will correct me but as they add more and more to the satellite it must drop signal a bit - nothing to worry about in bognor but in the island will be very much felt
Have you any idea what size dish the pirates are using ...i think they are rather big at guaza and gomera ??

Why would it drop?

Shirley the Bird is equipped with Voltage Regulation and surely the Power Management is arranged such that there is always ample capacity plus a good wodge of redundancy to energise each and every TWT to its intended level whatever the state of illumination of the panels etc?

I feel sure they've thought of this .................

Can I get confirmation of the situation please? I have been following these conversations for quite a while but now seemed to have got myself a little confused.

What i thought would happen is the terrestrial type channels and the ones with content contractual problems basically the majority of channels that used to be on the old Astra 2D will now be on a strict UK spot beam (lost to most) but the other channels, i,e sky movies.,sports Dave, History etc would not be effected too much as likely to be on pan -european.
Reading through this thread i am wondering now if all channels from sky and everything on 28.2 will be on the UK Spot beam?

its highly unlikely, i dont think thats even possible - all those channels wouldn't even fit on the UK beam

Besides, SKY would never be interested in it. They value their overseas customers :)

Yes, but with 2 more satellites on the way, Sky might move some channels to spot beams of those sats.

UK PSB = UK SPOT BEAM
SKY CHANNELS = PANEUROPA BEAM ($port beam lol)

The three new birds give the flexibility to do whatever the customer (bbc, sky etc) wants. Remember that EU law actually forbids artificial internal borders. Sky (and others) might be forced to accept subscriptions from all over Europe and, obviously, pay the rights. To prevent that from happening they might want to move to the spotbeam. (or leave the EU :-))

Similar readings here on a 3M dish but the errors are killing any chance of a picture. Did you get a picture on a receiver.

Not everybody subscribes to Sky, they just want the main free BBC/ITV channels.

True (especially in my case!) - but don't forget that many on the fringes can only get BSkyB Channels right now:They are already unable to get PSB. So they are worried about getting bu**er all at some point in the not too distant future. But I think those worries are not well-founded.
