Astra 2F at 28E (at last!)

Finally - I found signal on 11023H here on the west coast of Norway .
It is light rain at the moment, and I need to wipe the raindrops of my dish to keep the signal quality at 60%.
-> Picture is gone at 50% quality.

The dish is 82x72cm with the LNB slightly off center on a multi LNB rail.

I used 11720H on Astra 2A to fine tune the dish - got 80% quality.

I receive good signal L=89% ,Q=18-36% with antena offset oval 135*120 cm fixed, lnb inverto black ultra , golden media uni-box2
picture and sound is stable :-righton

unfortunately with antena offset 1m motorized , lnb inverto black ultra , golden media uni-box2 not receive anything :-downt

in the mornig at 5.30 am L=89% ,Q=18-45%
now at 12.13pm L=89% ,Q=18-32%

We will think about that when we take the area reports that Tivu has made & locked when 2F starts taking over the traffic properly. I think its a good idea - then the reports are consistent.

The current map is just a trial, there will be changes when things start getting hectic. Its already giving us some trends though even with only one frequencies worth of data.

I've no problem with a Template for Reports on the soon (but when?!) to be unlocked Operational Thread - but it's going to be a hell of a job to enforce it - It's hard enough trying to keep Threads reasonably On Topic, let alone anything else.

So we will rely upon the goodwill and cooperation of our Dear Members .................................. ^-J

No - the dish has been moved this summer and is not as fine tuned as it was before.
Using 1N for fine tuning is far from ideal...

80% quality on 11720 on 2A is equivalent to 50% qualtiy on 11023H at my location.
-> Then it was possible to save the two BBC HD channels.

With further tuning I'm up to 60% on 11023H.
It's raining at the moment.

OK, after a chat with Huevos I have borrowed a dvd-s2 receiver. So my results:
Location: San Miguel de Salinas
Dish:1m famaval hi gain dish
LNB: black ultra twin
Cable: 10m shotgun triax cable
Result: Quality fluctuating between 21% and 0%, first scan I managed to get the test channels, second scan I didn't

I know a template is difficult to enforce but if we ask nicely and keep it relatively simple Im hoping we can get additional information out of it

One thing that would be useful is having folks post their town or city in the reports as Im having to guess where some of the locations are on the map. (Central Italy is a big area )

Not everyone will follow it but thats life

Looks like 110 is the absolute minimum round there atm, the other 2 reports are for 140 & 180

I've already found it, advised AS off-Forum (Don't want to bore everyone with Staff machinations) and we are on with it - many thanks for your idea.

We are going to Post it in the holding Thread for Operational Reports and Lock it again pro-tem: No point in retrospectively trying to get 11023 reports in that format now.

Not sure if this is a valid test....but I've just popped a damp cloth over the 28°E LNB......on 11023H it's dropped down to 89% SNR whilst on 10847V it dropped to 84%SNR.....so maybe 11023H is a tad stronger?.....

Dish type - make and model of dish type
LNB - make and model of lnb
Time tried at - either 24hour or 12hour with am or pm
Reciever or meter type - which box your using or signal meter
Other information - any other information you might be to give
signal lock - yes or no
able to view channels - description of view ie clear picture, picture breaking up etc

dam you posted that as i was typing it up, but i added a few more things onto it with description of the infomation required
