Astra 2F at 28E (at last!)

Hi all,

Update from Gran Canaria.

3m Prime focus dish 3pm, very cloudy, no signal on 11023H (assuming I didn´t make a mistake with the reciever, bit rushed).

2.7m Offset 7pm, very cloudy (just about to rain), Signal on 11023H, as others say, signal jumps up and down. I think when things settle down and I tweak my dish I will get this ok. If there are any disbelievers, the pics are below.

In SW Portugal they look the same as they have done for years...Not on 2F

solly confirmed earlier that the lowest frequency tested at 43.5E is 10.964.
this would be in line with the possibility of 2F lacking 10.7-10.95

A larger dish would not help much in this case because it would also amplify further the 1N transponders, maintaining the C/N level on 11023.

How far below the other transponders is it? Here I get 11778V without problems and that's a good 15dB down on the neighbouring transponders.

I don't think so. If that was the case I would now be receiving "MGM HD" and "Eurosport 2 HD" and I still do not.

To receive Sky premier HD and Eurosport 2 HD in Alicante we needed a 1.8m dish we can now receive these channels as from today from Astra 2f on a 85cm dish

so with 80cm you have signal on that tp and befor you need 1.80m ?
i dont have any change on that tp .

If the tech guys at SES are reading this, they must be themselves laughing at the ridiculous speculation in this thread.

what that everyone in scotland has to have a new dish ,that the satellite only has long wave ´´ánd now the archers´´
that all SKY channels are being moved to a sport beam that only covers the west midland ...and that anyone at the château is looking on these sites ...

was strong i got 6c/n

How far below the other transponders is it? Here I get 11778V without problems and that's a good 15dB down on the neighbouring transponders.

It's about 20dB down the 1N adjacent transponders.
See attached picture.
I also attach the equivalent picture for 12480V. In this case he difference is just 15 dB.
And of course for 11025H we have 8PSK modulation which is not helping.
When 1N moves to 2F and we also get some QPSK I think we may have better luck over here.

Neither is possible on a 90cm dish. 12012 is just possible to scan on a 110cm dish but not possible to play. On a 1.8m dish SNR is 8.5dB. Both are still on the north beam as the attached images show. Both transponders are almost invisible.

you have a 4.5m dish, right? do you receive 11023H in Israel? and what about astra 1N?
