Well I am down the road NE of you (Neuburg, 45 mins by car), but probably on the same curve as you, but my 2F signal on BBC1HD for example is 48%, compared to 79% on Astra 1N - same for CH5HD.uk-expat said:After weeks of uncertainty: BBC1 HD test channels on 11023 perfect reception day & night & during light snowfall. Channels reported as migrated (C4HD, Ch5 etc.) also no problems. Cannot see significant difference between 2F and 1N. If migrated channel reports really are correct, the 1F UK spot beam isn't that much spot after all!
Which dish is that on? Ive put you down for the 105cm for nowuk-expat said:After weeks of uncertainty: BBC1 HD test channels on 11023 perfect reception day & night & during light snowfall. Is that with the 150 cm dish listed in your profile? Please report back if channels fade out during the day or in bad weatherLuxlizard said:Bologna,North Italy, yesterday lost (or with very weak signal,)lots of channels: Chan 5/ITV1+1/4HD/4seven/5+1/5USA/5USA+1/5*/5*+1/Capital etc...I tried the old Pace sky box instead of the usual Humax freesat HD,and some of these channels were weak ,but still watcheable..,
On both dishes. Long before the 2F saga I did due diligence on their alignment to ensure I was receiving all the Astra 28.2 FTA channels catalogued by kingofsat. But I have no skew on dish or LNB (simply did not know how skew worked at that time). I have another dish installation, also in Augsburg - 85 cm with prime focus on 28.2 and additional extension arm with LNB for 19.2; slightly obstructed by a nearby building. So far no problems with 1N or any others at 28.2; I'll be checking 2F tomorrow.Analoguesat said:Which dish is that on? Ive put you down for the 105cm for now

On my 105 cm dish I just compared BBC 1 HD DVB-S2 on 10847/23000 (which I assume is still on 1N) and the BBC 1 HD 2F test on 11023. My Humax box (if that can be trusted) reports signal strength and quality both at 100% for 1N; for the 2F transmission it shows strenght 85% and quality 75%. Unless they dilute the signal over the coming months, that should be a comfortable margin for bad weather. We have snow forecasted for the weekend, so that will put it to the test.TonyWhalley said:Well I am down the road NE of you (Neuburg, 45 mins by car), but probably on the same curve as you, but my 2F signal on BBC1HD for example is 48%, compared to 79% on Astra 1N - same for CH5HD.
Picture and sound is "currently" rock solid.
Guess if I start getting problems later, I will have to get the sat people in to check dish and LNB alignment, I am just amazed I have a picture at 47%!.
cool, whats with the other 2F transponders, can you maybe check them, that would be kind! another question, what does 55-57 % mean in ptractice, useable signal without dropouts?ukt said:Another one: Jihlava, Czech Republic (1hr south east from Prague) 1.4m PF Kovosat with Invacom LNB 1N 10847V 74% 2F 11023/11127 55-57% This should mean around 1.8m required for Vienna
