After weeks of uncertainty: BBC1 HD test channels on 11023 perfect reception day & night & during light snowfall. Channels reported as migrated (C4HD, Ch5 etc.) also no problems. Cannot see significant difference between 2F and 1N. If migrated channel reports really are correct, the 1F UK spot beam isn't that much spot after all!

Watching this thread with interest (and not a little despondency). Got a 1.2 Gibertini with Televes LNB attached to a Freesat HD receiver at the flat in Tirrenia (PI, Italy) that I suspect will be a pile of scrap by the time I get back over there next summer.... :-crying

Well I am down the road NE of you (Neuburg, 45 mins by car), but probably on the same curve as you, but my 2F signal on BBC1HD for example is 48%, compared to 79% on Astra 1N - same for CH5HD.
Picture and sound is "currently" rock solid.
Guess if I start getting problems later, I will have to get the sat people in to check dish and LNB alignment, I am just amazed I have a picture at 47%!.

Reports of 2m dishes in Prague picking up 24/7 2F clear so far (consistent with what you are getting in Munich as Prague must be in the next band along). I will check some specifics later and get some other feedback for other cities and Slovakia too.

That would be great - all reports from towns & cities outside the main coverage area are very useful

Is that with the 150 cm dish listed in your profile? Please report back if channels fade out during the day or in bad weather

No,the weather is ok...Last year all channels were ok...Is the new satellite 2F who has a smaller footprint,I think...
P.S. Sorry if I replied in the wrong place...Sometimes I think I could wear glasses...

On both dishes. Long before the 2F saga I did due diligence on their alignment to ensure I was receiving all the Astra 28.2 FTA channels catalogued by kingofsat. But I have no skew on dish or LNB (simply did not know how skew worked at that time). I have another dish installation, also in Augsburg - 85 cm with prime focus on 28.2 and additional extension arm with LNB for 19.2; slightly obstructed by a nearby building. So far no problems with 1N or any others at 28.2; I'll be checking 2F tomorrow.
Should be getting some medium snowfall this weekend, so that will be the real test.

On my 105 cm dish I just compared BBC 1 HD DVB-S2 on 10847/23000 (which I assume is still on 1N) and the BBC 1 HD 2F test on 11023. My Humax box (if that can be trusted) reports signal strength and quality both at 100% for 1N; for the 2F transmission it shows strenght 85% and quality 75%. Unless they dilute the signal over the coming months, that should be a comfortable margin for bad weather. We have snow forecasted for the weekend, so that will put it to the test.
Spent last weekend creating real estate on the roof to accomodate dish size up to 150 cm if that's what is eventually needed. May have been over-pessimistic.

Another one:

Jihlava, Czech Republic (1hr south east from Prague)
1.4m PF Kovosat with Invacom LNB
1N 10847V 74%
2F 11023/11127 55-57%

This should mean around 1.8m required for Vienna

cool, whats with the other 2F transponders, can you maybe check them, that would be kind! another question, what does 55-57 % mean in ptractice, useable signal without dropouts?

10964 H (right at the moment 6,0x db)
10994 H (right at the moment 2,0x db)
11052 H (right at the moment 6,50 db)
11126 V (right at the moment 2,47 db)

p.s. no idea what the mater is with 10994 and 11126, but i hope sooooo much, that the BBC transponders later in 2013 will not be like these two...
