Astra 2F: Iberia & Balearics Discussion

forget it
you would need a bigger dish than 2.30.
i live near Lisbon and have a 2,10 mtr and don't have any signal.
Have a friend who live in Sesimbra and with 2,40 don't have any signal.
Only on North is possible to get a signal with smaller antenas.
You are saying that based on one horizontal transponder being switched on. Verticals may be a completely different matter as has been the case for the Costa Blanca, Canaries and Cyprus for the last 10 years.

Unfortunately I'm not seeing any difference with the 4/7 & Ch4Hd transponder now that its moves to the 2F. This is the only V that I saw moving.

dxn, can you post your reports with your 2m dish? Any luck?

So this morning I found:

Barcelona.
80cm dish on twin LNB
Humax Foxsat and Pace Sky Digibox
LOSS of Channel 5 and Channel 4HD: ZERO SS and SQ on both transponders.

However, I hear reports from further south of good reception.
Can anyone explain why I've lost signal? Could Barcelona be in a "black spot"?

C5's ITVs1 C4HD still fine here on my 80cm dish (Gandia - 70kms south of valencia)
10964 H (c5) on humax showing 100% strength and 65% quality
11053 H (itvs) on humax showing 100% strength and 65% quality
11126 V (C4hD) on humax showing 100% strength and 70% quality

so pretty much the same as the BBC freq 11023
All channels fine on a sky box also, and a technomate, and manhattan plaza.

For info:
The dish measures 80cm horizontal and 85cm vertical. It is on an illusion motor, and uses an inverto ultra back LNB.
True this dish may be on the edge of reception, and with a lot of cloud / rain it may drop out, but all signals have been stable and constant.

For the test transmission on 11023h there were a few positive reports on 11023H from barcelona (with 80cm dishi believe )before giving up i would check dish alignment and skew.

Well I've kept the 20db attenuator on and this morning can report the following from my Humax Foxsat HD and my 2.4M dish just 6km south of Valencia.

Clear skies.

The 2F vertical transponder is gradually increasing in strength in
SW Portugal...Nothing to get excited about but maybe 4dB CN on a
2M dish at the moment,it will no doubt drop back later on and cycle up and down
during the day like the old Astra 2D signal did.

Horizontals are stronger but not by the same amount

Mazarron, Murcia 1.9M prime focus, C120 0.3lnb
Humax HDR Time 2.00pm

11.023 H, SR 23.000 FEC 2/3 DVB-S2 *PSK "8901" and "8911" (BBC 1 HD's) Strength 90% Quality 90%

10.964 H SR 22.000 FEC 5/6 (CH5/5USA/5*/Channel 5+1),

10.994 H SR 22.000 FEC 5/6 (ITV 1 Granada HD/ITV 1 Central South West SD/ITV 1 Anglia West SD/ITV 1 Meridian North SD/ITV 1 Yorkshire East SD/ITV 1+1 Yorkshire SD),
Strength 85% Quality 90%

11.052 H SR 22.000 FEC 5/6 (ITV 1 Central South SD/ITV 1 Central East SD/ITV 1+1 Wales SD/ITV 1+1 Westcountry SD/ITV 1+1 Tyne Tees SD),

11.126 V SR 22.000 FEC 5/6 (Channel 4 HD/4Seven SD)

Looks like I need to go to the shop and get a dish for 27,5w. Which dish size do you recommend for Sevilla area? 90cm-1m should be okay?

doubt it you will get anything. But by all means try it and report back. I get nothing, nada de nada with one 1.8m dish near Lisbon.

Map udated to here.
Where did you get the 180cm report for Lisbon?
I just saw somewhere else a report of 130m for Coimbra that is 175km north of Lisbon.
Also a report for 110cm for Oporto for all the transponders moved yesterday with the exception of 11023H that still requires 180cm dish.
But for Lisbon I have not seen any positive report :(
