Astra 2G at 28.2E: General Discussion

There were some Freqs changes on Sky UK, don't know if this is a normal routine or something to do with the arrival of 2G.
e.g Sky action SD had a freq of 11836 H 27500. Now its 11934 V 27500 5/6.
National Geo Wild had a freq of 11603 V 29500 DBV-S2. Now its 12187 H 27500 5/6.

Signal is slightly down by about 1db

Those signals after 11052H (11072-11182H) are now very smaller here in Finland than when introduced on February. Co-incidence that Astra 2D is moving away tonigth?

Just to thank the guys from the test.
As a report this morning, unwanted disappeared in the tp's 11053 --- 11171 the signal (Madrid) Spain that leaves tune tp 11053 H 23000 3/4 DVB-S2 signals.
Levels as usual.

Now all perfect, some pictures to show.

Como informe esta mañana, desaparecieron las señales no deseadas en los tp's 11053 ---11171 la señal por (Madrid) España que no deja sintonizar el tp 11053 H 23000 3/4 DVB-S2.

No other info about this one solly - the guy who posted on the other forum has always posted good info though. I see no reason to disbelieve his info though, he works in the broadcast industry so has access to info we dont.

At a guess its just to balance out the tp loadings.

All C band 2F TP's wil be transferring to 2G, not sure if this is happening tonight or tomorrow, the C5, ITV's and C4HD TP may switch first or at the same time as the BBC's.

This will leave 2F with hardly any UK spots. Looks like 2F will be mainly used by Sky for Europe beams and 2E and 2G will be of most interest to Freesat and fringe viewers.

Yep, looking that way, with 2G for D band backup and 2F for C band backup. Sky have been doing more shuffling today with another TP illuminated (11.836H), a copy of 12.304H.

Well, if something happened last night, my 80cm dish has noticed no signal difference this morning - all channels coming in as usual...

Around 2:30 11024H "jumped". It seems 2G and 2F have almost identical Beams then. We have to wait till the evening.

Not sure if significant or not, but just checked 10964 H and getting 12.1dB according to Solo SE, compared with 11.2dB on 10993 H. Have not done the check before, so may always have been the case

Just seen that on KOS, they are saying 12226, with 5 Sky HD channels, is on 2Gs UK beam...
If that is true (givens KOS's past record of wrong beams) and it is indeed on the uk beam, then that beam is coming in here about 30% stronger than channels on the 2e and 2f uk beam.

I have very strong signal on TP 11585 H in Central Europe.
TP from E28A sterable beam 1 have about 13dB.

That has to be wrong, as this 12226 is at same level as other 2F europe channels in Finland.
