Hmm, odd. I've been checking that one several times today, getting the PIDS but no video

OK on another receiver. For some reason my Hauppauge card doesn't display the pattern.

I feel the need to complain in the strongest possible terms ...
..at the time selected for this launch ..
Have these launch engineers in Luxembourg no respect for British Pub licensing hours ..
10 pm indeed ..
Hmmmmphhh!!

My Hauppauge doesn't like it either.

I will try to sort it out tomorrow. It is an annoyance though I could just use my receiver. It really should 'just work' though.

Yes, all PIDS correct. Very odd the Hauppauge problem (WinTV Nova HD). That's the first time it's never shown an image that my other receivers have. All other channels show OK on that TP.

Is it possible its the low video bitrate causing problems?? - its only 550kbps atm.

You could well be right AS, but I would say that's par for the course for a static image like a testcard. Besides, I've never had any problems with similar fixed images.

BTW - anyone wanting watch the liftoff but with no access to 19E can watch the webstream here:

Coverage should start about 2140uk time.

Likewise, using the same setup of Hauppauge WinTV Nova HD and DVB Viewer.

Its very unusual as it handles everything else.

If we both have a problem, that is not a good sign.

It is showing now in the folder Rhode & Schwarz, channel titled ASTRA 3B Launch.

All I did was scan 19e, then select another channel at random, wait ten seconds, close DVB Viewer, wait until CPU and RAM activity stopped, then opened DVB Viewer up again, and bingo! :)

The right audio test tone is being received fine.

For some reason, it is showing the bottom part of the picture from the previous channel it was tuned to. Try tuning to a broadcast channel then switch back and see if the colour bars partially appear.

The bitrate should show Mbit 0.9 which accounts for video and audio combined.

Less could suggest it is not processing the video at all.

I am using the Main Concept codecs, not the HCW version, and the (Vista) system default renderer.

Options ---> DirectX, as I am sure you well know.

Its possible the codec you normally use for full chroma feeds is not entirely compatible with this feed. Though unlikely!

:-comp

I can now get video/audio perfectly using the Cyberlink Video/SP decoder inDVBViewer Pro.

Had to run through several codecs (normally use the ever-faithful Elecard)

That is strange, as the Elecard codec is so highly regarded.

One tends to get complacent hexah. Lesson learnt :-DOH2

Launch has been postponed a few days - theres a problem that needs to be fixed - (maybe the matches got wet :-rofl2)

Here's screenshot bearing the bad news - -
