astra channels into computor

My Satellite Setup
1.2 meter dish
technomate box

I can move the dish manually if I
want to change sat
But since the change over to digi
I find it difficult to find satellites
(must be the digi delay )

hi,
I ve managed to get my astra sat channels into my computor using hdmi cable
and .... CAMERA.... the software embedded in windows 10
great pic I can now surf the net and keep my eye on the tv channels... BUT....
I ve noticed that on a few channels there is great pic but no sound....
or rather any sound there is is like a motorbike.... !
Just wondering why this should happen .... most channels audio seems ok
but a few others the audio is not there

Which channels are you having trouble with? More information on what receiver and capture device you are using might help. As a starter I would make sure the receiver it set to output stereo or PCM.
 
Thanks for the reply ... I ll try and get a list of the channels
that Im not getting audio with ... there might be some kind of pattern
 
THERE seem to be more channels with no audio that with !
501 sky news OK
502 no audio
508 euro news.... OK
512 GB News no audio
513 TRT OK

had quick look at bbc 1 101 no audio
103 itv no audio

pretty bad outlook for audio but on the channels that do
word the audio is really good... no probs

im baffled why some are working great and prob the majority
sound like a motorbike !
 
What are your audio settings on the satellite receiver?
 
YOU VE got me there !
 
The channels you are having problems with have more than one audio setting. Id suggest your receiver is selecting the AC3 audio (Dolby) instead of the stereo audio.
 
THANKS for that info... way over my head of course... but maybe theres a
way I can go into settings and put everything onto sterio audio
 
just went to audio settings and saw

digital audio output HDMI and changed that to NORMAL.....

BINGO all the channels are giving me audio in the computor !

I thought I could do the same and get my TECHMATE channels into my computor via HTMI
but a quick look at the back... cant see an HTMI socket..
the box is prob 10 plus years old by now
I can see 2 scart sockets....
maybe I can get an adaptor that will turn them into HDMI ?

Highly unlikely, though you could use something like a DVD recorder with HDMI output that has an upscaling function.
