At last - the new home for Eutelsat 25A is identified

[Analoguesat]

We have been wondering where the redundant Eutel 25A was heading. After an update to the eutelsat.com website, we finally find out shes been redeployed to 4E at Eutelsat 4B

This is about the 5th rename for the former Hotbird 5!!

Hot Bird 5 → Eurobird 2 → Arabsat 2D → Badr 2 → Eutelsat 25A → Eutelsat 4B

They really are packing them tight now. It's getting busy up there. I remember the good old days when satellites where at least 3 degrees apart.

the old satellite eutelsat 25a will be replace eutelsat 3c ?

It'll be interesting to see where the beams go on that one.

the old satellite eutelsat 25a will be replace eutelsat 3c ?

that should be ok then i was finding it hard trying to juggle a spot between 3 and 5 :-).

When the old W1 was at 4E as Eurobird 4A it was only ever used for feeds. I suspect 25A / 4B will only be use for the same, especially as shes the old Hotbird 5 and pretty run down these days..

Looks like Eutelsat 4B has been sent to junk orbit.
Today's TLE indicates this, also it was removed from the Eutelsat website.
