I was invited for Christmas embibement last night by a neighbour, whose family was just about to start watching the above film on their Sky Cinema trial pass with NowTV.

I accepted and made my excuses to leave at about an hour in, I wanted to leave earlier but it was tough going to down the bottle of wine any faster.

Please avoid viewing, if you wish to retain your sanity and relations.

Allegedly scores 8.5 on IMDB.

I watched it last night. A bit slow to begin with but gets better. You really have to watch all the other films in the series for this one to make sense, which I have!

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
Sometimes you just have to "get up and go" - Not watched (nor likely to from what you said) that film, but we walked out of the local Odean on Boxing Day afternoon after only about 35mins of the new CATS movie. Nothing like the stage show, and far, far the worse for that!

SWMBO wanted to see it and bought the (expensive!) tickets - but she was the one who nudged me (I was trying to fall asleep to avoid watching!) and said "Do you want to go home?", and so we did!

Yeah, Avengers IMDB ratings are nonsensical tbh, 'fanboys' just giving it 10/10 for the sake of it. Was probably the worst one of the 'Avengers' films imo.

To be honest, watching the last film in a 10-year, 20-odd film series is not a good place to start.

I had seen a couple before now
Guardians of the Galaxy
Iron Man (1)
Blade 1 (and 2)
Early Spiderman.

I do have the unwatched DVD of Doctor Strange in the car, I doubt seeing it would have made last nights 'entertainment' less painful.

You're right about only having seen a couple. Neither of the Blades are part of the MCU and if it was an early Spiderman then that was probably at least two reboots away from the current canonical series.

Not as good as I thought it would be, but unless you've watched the previous film, a complete waste of time.

Possibly, I had already turned over before the end credits. Some of the ropiest 70s Dracula films look better than this.
