AVI Playback

My Satellite Setup
DM800 HD, DM500, Ubuntu 10.04 Machine. Thinkpad running Windows 7.
My Location
Uk
Hi Guys,

I am unable to get my DM800 (GP2) to playback avi files, I have added a hard drive and the avi files are visible on them.

I can browse to the files using file manager (Blue > Red), I highlight the avi file, press green to play, the player loads but nothing but blank screen.

Any one successfully playin avi movies?

same here would like to sort this out if possible
 
afaik you need to convert the file to mpeg, well thats what i do anyway
