Hi everyone,
Today I found the folder of my first satellite system.
Buy November 30, 1990 at the impressive price of 3490 Fr ...
it consisted of a 60cm radom antenna and a 48 channel receiver.

The antenna was sold with a very well thought out multiple attachment system

I think there have been "quite a few" similar threads here "in the past" - "interesting times", they were!

PS: I was not the "first" because my first system went up sometime in early 1991 (NEC 5000 Rx/7000 positioner + NEC/? 80cm dish on an NEC/Jaeger H-H mount) - happy days! :D

It took me a long time to have a real motorized system.
After this I bought an AMSTRAD SRD 600 in Torquay.
Then I came to OLYMPIA for the satellite show and bought a PACE MS1000.
After and this time in France I bought my first motorized system.
A Channel Master 1M20 with a 12 "actuator and an ALBA receiver / positioner for only 1500 francs !
I don't know why a supermarket decided to sell satellite dishes and by mistake the price had been underestimated.
I still have the CM today :)

@zorrin and jeallen01
why or what interest led you both,to a satellite system?

For my part it was when I lived in Bristol in around 1988 and was at a party in the flat of someone (far more affluent than I!) who had a (C band, I guess) system and showed something (can't remember WTH it was!) - and that got my interest in "sat stuff", which continues until today (and has cost me a "lot"!).

I'm pretty sure the problem started with this :)...

when I was 16 or 17 I went to Toquay for a language course. my host family used the money received for my stay to buy a satellite system on ASTRA. we installed it and spent the weekend watching the channels.
For me it was just magic.
after that I started looking in France without too much success for a not too expensive system. But there was not the same enthusiasm in France as in the UK or in Germany.

at this time (1988) with my old friend jean we bought astra kit in UK , bring back in france , i create a small board to get 5.8mhz sound and we sold many set around us !!! i can bought my first LNB very expensive with that ... in france a set cost about 500 to 1500 euros , my british set cost 200 !!! good job .
