Bad picture----white lines Help please

Hi Guys,

I hope this is the correct area to post this question (if not please tell me where to post it).
I have a Hyundai Hss-1160NA Digi Box ( Romanian digi tv) but the screen picture is covered in white lines and comes in waves (hope this makes sense). I receive all the channels I should and they are not pixalated. I also have a sky box on the same tv and the picture is fine.
I can still watch the programs but the screen problem is annoying...it was ok for the first 2 years.
It is connected to the tv with a scart lead and I have connected it to the tv with and ordinary cable as well with the same results.

Any help would be gratefully recieved. NICK
 
Welcome to the forum Nick.

The receiver fault described sounds very much like power supply condensor or regulation problems. Can you test the on screen menu whilst removing the IF cable to see if the PSU is failing under load conditions.
 
hello,i suspect satellite man is right.
the power supply may have a bad filter cap in the power supply puting 50 hz waves in the picture.
if you know anyone who can check this a buldging cap in the top is a sign it is failing.
