there is not any kind of signal of _www.flysat.com/badr5.php transpoders even at southern Greece . Something goes wrong with flysat .

There are 2 posibilities:

-now there are only testings

-something goes wrong on badr5's transponders and we know nothing till now

According to flysat the first test analog transmissions from Badr 5 satellite at 26° East have been started from 4 July , enough time for tests , so doktorofsat maybe you have right about the second possibility , but for sure we have to wait a little bit more , time will show us the true .

11240V, 11280V, 11318V, 11355V, 11395V, 11432V are actually from Badr 4:
12092V, 12130V, 12169V, 12207V, 12245V, 12284V.
The people that receive these low-band frequencies use twin or quad LNB's.
When another LNB output has high-band selected, 10600 MHz oscillator is active within the LNB.
This frequency leaks into the mixer for low-band, that should only mix with 9750 MHz.
10600 - 9750 = 850 MHz, this is the difference between above rows of frequencies.

Probably when on the other LNB outputs also low-band is selected, the fake 11240V etc. frequencies will disappear.

Good morning all,

The first 2 frequencies that have locked on from Badr 5 satellite are,
10729 V DVB-S/MPEG - 27500
10729 H DVB-S/MPEG - 27500

The signal strenght is higer than the Badr 6 tps i get.
I am situated outside the footprint region of Badr 5 pan arab beam.

Below pics of Badr 5 test frequency,

Hello kungu,

I can confirm this.

Btw. first time I could lock TP 10730 V and H on 16.07.2010.

Signal on 10730 H with ~50% quality on Openbox X-810, 10730 V with ~60%. For FEC 3/4 in DVB-S you need >18% quality on Openbox X-810.

Best regards
qwer.

I'm getting a mountain of signal off that transponder. I'm sure you could catch it on a mini dish from here.

Good morning all,

Test Frequency 10744 H 27500 also on.

It seems this week is when channels shall be added onto the satellite as the official handing over of the satellite to Arabsat took place on the 22nd after orbit test.
Another satellite that will be active soon, is Badr 5a which will replace Arabsat 2b @ 30.5°E.

Below handing over statement.

Two Arabsat satellites delivered in orbit

23 July 2010

Arabsat-5A and BADR-5 satellites handed over to Arabsat by EADS Astrium and Thales Alenia Space as part of the in-orbit delivery contract

Riyadh, 22 July 2010 – The Arabsat-5A and BADR-5 satellites have been handed over to Arabsat by Astrium and Thales Alenia Space as part of the in-orbit delivery contract and have entered commercial service.

Both satellites have been deployed and tested in orbit in the same period due to their close launch dates. After the successful completion of in-orbit testing to ensure that all spacecraft functions were performing as expected, BADR-5 launched by Proton on 3 June was officially transferred to Arabsat on 17 July at the designated orbital location, shortly followed by Arabsat-5A, launched by Ariane 5 on 26 June and officially transferred to Arabsat on 21 July at the designated orbital location, less than one month after launch.

Astrium and Thales Alenia Space are acting as co-prime contractors for the satellites’ construction and delivery into orbit. Astrium, the team leader, supplied the Eurostar E3000 platforms and assembled and tested the spacecraft. Thales Alenia Space supplied the communications payloads. The Launch and Early Orbit Phases were conducted from the Astrium spacecraft control centre in Toulouse, and the In-Orbit Testing from the Arabsat main control centre in Riyadh with the participation of the Arabsat control centre in Tunis. Arabsat’s first 5th generation satellites are now in commercial operation providing communications services.

BADR-5 is collocated with the BADR-4 and BADR-6 Direct-to-Home satellites at Arabsat’s hot spot. BADR-5 provides the highest level of service within the MENA region and new services over the Central Asia region. BADR 5 provides capacity for more than 700 TV channels, HDTV, 3D, Telecom services including broadband, in addition to providing a full in orbit backup for the Arabsat fleet. BADR-5 is a Eurostar E3000 satellite equipped with a payload that includes 56 transponders operating in different bands.

Arabsat-5A is a multi-mission satellite which provides additional transmission capacity at the Arabsat orbital position for a wide range of satellite communications services, covering the whole continent of Africa, Central Asia and Middle East regions. Arabsat-5A is a Eurostar E3000 satellite equipped with a payload that includes 50 active transponders operating in different bands.
