£353... wow more money than sense...

Personally, I think the 1224 went for the going rate for a brand new and boxed unit based on three recent sales that I am aware of. Forum member "Spiff" bought and sold a new and boxed 1224 for £350 so that is two sales at the same price level. Plus there was one on eBay a while back that went for £400.

Would I pay £350 for one, no I would not.
However, if others wish to pay that amount that is their choice.

Thats an interesting dish with the home made feed. The dish looks to be in good condition and the polar mount is crying out for an inclined orbit jack. At the current price its a monster bargain, there will be a few forum members on the sniff for this.

I have seen that dish design before somewhere but cant recall the manufacturer?

I think it is a Trac unit but no guarantee.

Fibreglass dishes without ribbing are good out of the box, but they have a tendency to warp/sag under their own weight. The only cure is to rotate the dish every year on the three mounting lugs.

Precision 1.8m dish with Jaeger 1224 including elevation actuator, Irte ground stand, v-box and C Band LNB.
Shame TJ gave up on it - an excellent bundle there.

He's selling a smaller 3.0m dish as well but it's fixed, so I'll take the 3.7m one!

Strange as it may sound, the 3.7m motorised setup is quite cheap considering what the equipment would have cost new? It is all commercial grade kit. There was also a 3.0m motorised setup as well as the 3.0m fixed setup but it looks like the 3.0m motorised may have been sold?

Its the same one that didn't sell last month, it's not - quite - a commercial grade antenna, (it can be used for uplinking at C band if on a fixed mount, I would not attempt it on the Prodelin polarmount).

Dismantling without damage is going to be an uphill task.

It all depends on how it was aligned initially, if the installer used the correct spammers and torque settings, the age it has been out in the elements, and if it is near the coast.

There must be a reason why there are a limited number of images on the auction

Presumably because the dishes are still in place on the roof of the old Ulster TV building on Ormeau Road in Belfast. The building was vacated several months ago and there may need to be an appointment made to gain access to the roof.

Although most people may not consider this dish to be a bargain, the asking price is quite a reduction on the price that the dish and included equipment would have cost brand new when purchased from Elite Antennas.

The dish is probably "Ka Certified" by Elite Antennas which increases the cost quite a bit over the cost of the same size C Band or Ku Band dish from Elite. In addition, the Elite versions of the Ka Feed and Ka OMT that are included are expensive.

Probably not a bargain, however it is a superb dish even if it is overkill for a dabble in C Band or Ku Band.
