The other half has asked me to clean the stuff as it is no longer an off white colour (it is, but not as white as she would like).

What is the most efficient method for bringing it back to near original, one that I don't have to spend hours with a toothbrush and bleach ?
 
Not used one myself but I've seen grouting pens available. They look for all the world like a felt-tip pen and you use it exactly as you would think.

I've had some success in the past restoring grout to something like its former glory ...using a high temp focussed steam cleaner ..
Aiming the fucussed jet attchment at the grout ..and using a scouring pad whilst its still warm ..
A good dollop of thick bleach mixed with biological soap powder and water ...to soak the scouring pad in ..
It may well soften and thin the grout during the process ...but a thin finger application of new grout afterwards ..will bring it back to life..

White paint and a small brush.... :-rofl2
 
You can get a special tool for raking it out, quite cheaply. I once tried using a Dremel but it was a fag and you only need one slip to mark the surface of the tile
 
No more mold spray not only kills any mold, soap residue and calcium that has built up on the tiles but whitens the grouting as well.

Have too agree and looks better than the other options....
 
Vipersan has the perfect idea.
Have done it myself and it is easy to do and gives a great result, even the other half will be pleased. Not that expensive to buy and works fine on any dirty spot
