I see there is an amber warning for heavy snow in London on Tuesday - no doubt it'll be reported as if its the end of the world by the news channels! Whilst of course the rest of us carrfy on as normal in the winter :D

Yip........

There is no truth in us southerners being southern softies :)

Just completed my shopping delivery for Tuesday :-rofl2

Glad I've spent a lot of time and (relatively speaking!) cash on the insulation and c/h system for this house (originally very bloody cold!) house! Now in a shirt and shorts (just like the Summer - where DID that go?) at around 24C in most of the house :). GAWD help those further East and North :(.

T-shirts and shorts are all-year wear here in the North.

We're not happy unless we can see our breath.

Its been a glorious weekend up here - when the wind wasnt blowing. Shorts on for half an hour Saturday & lunch on the patio Sunday. Both were halted rapidly when the wind got up again coz hells bells the wind is COLD!

BUT, will that still be true in 2-3 days? We - and you! - will see if you "confess" to having to wear "something more substantial" then! :)

When the snow stops falling it is probably nice to have lunch in the snow :-rofl2

I think you might be confusing me with Jessie :p

Why? It's just a cold breeze, nowt to worry about... :-rofl2

That's thought, must get some more petrol for my Honda generator, just incase the south sucks up all the electric pixies out of the wires...

It was -4C when I let the dogs out this morning, though heaven knows what the wind chill factor was. I have a three hour round trip to IKEA to look forward to, so I might have to put a T shirt on over my string vest....

Yet another glorious sunny day here but cold of course, but it is winter

Was snowing at about 2am this morning, it all melted in the day's sunshine, now though, there's light sprinklings of snow here and there, ah well, roll on tonight when the "It's all doom and gloom in the south!" show begins... :-lmao

The Daily Wail ......... "Armageddon"

The Walmington-on-Sea Chronicle ........ "We're Doomed. Doomed"

The Northern Echo ......... "Turned Out Nice Again"

The Bloke's Waffle - Ooh!! Snow!!! :D

It's costing me nearly £10 a day to heat this place!

Hi! I am not pretending to be profi in heating systems. This is my home heating diagram which I developed during last 10 or so years. There is wood burning boiler. When I burn wood in it then it heats 1.5m3 water in two tanks. Then hot water from tanks, automatically injects to the central heating radiators in the rooms. There is also 150l water boiler for hot water, which heats from the same wood. Even those days, when we have about -20*C, I burn wood once per day and it is enough to have constant 22*C temperature in the rooms and hot water available for bath.
