Hit by the beast from the east?? More like we have been savaged by the kitty from the city here today - very little lying snow although the forecast is pretty horrible overnight into tomorrow

Ice remains on the windscreen even after a ten mile journey.

Tomorrow is going to be fun.

Still snowing here, last looked at between 6 to 8 inches...

I did grab the shovel from my shed though, just incase I need to cut a path to the gate, although with a slipped disc in my spine, that'll be rather painful to accomplish...

From experience this afternoon, the "problem" is that the temperature is going "up and then down" very rapidly - so the fallen snow first melts, but then freezes before the melt-water can drain away before it solidifies and so that results on ice on the windscreen. :(

All Scottish Borders schools closed tomorrow, so a day at home. When putting my work plan for the day together I tried to sneak in

"snowman development time"

sadly it got spotted by the boss :-rofl2

Just looked outside, around 4 - 6 inches in the garden, 2-4 on the car and road.

Snow is laying here, 5 inch deep but no longer "on" at the moment, streets look clean with all the white stuff, can only hope a junkie is lying dead in it somewhere.........well it is Paisley! lol

Think we just had some thundersnow here, was asleep but suddenly awoken by a loud rumbling of thunder... :-wow

This kind of temperatures we have for almost a week. I would not like to go out to the antennas and screw some F-connectors  Most likely, coax cables will break apart when they touched. IMG_20180228_081834 (Large).webp

-7C overnight here but no snow....must collect more peasants just in case...

SWMBO has decided not to rush off to work

More interminable weather 'updates' on Today. A typical exchange:

(Justin or John to reporter somewhere) : "What's it like there at the moment?"

Breathless reporter: "The road is covered in snow".

Only 2-4cm of snow here and just cleared that off the car roof - to find frozen ice below that and so there must have been a short snow shower where the snow then melted and froze again before/when the main snow fall came. Streets seem very quiet here, but the construction contractor living next door hasn't gone to work and so there is probably a lot more snow in the local countryside (he's working on the HS2 construction a few miles away, near Harefield.)

SWMBO is thinking about heading to work now ......... It's taken me a good while to clear her car, but at least a snow plough has cleared the road a bit.

First ever red snow warning. Ive just been outside to top the bird feeders up & f*** its cold in the wind.

The lnb's on the dishes are starting to disappear under the onslaught

A Facebook aquaintance is flying back to Edinburgh from Venice this afternoon....bet she wishes she stayed in Italy...though there was snow there this morning..

It's all a bit late, innit? Still, love the usual panic the UK witnesses at the merest whiff of the white stuff. Le sigh....

Mental, never experienced that phenomenon which is a surprise living here.
