I know - bad to worse. It rained steadily all day yesterday and we were due for at least another inch (Oooh, Matron!) last night. Fortunately it wasn't that bad and SWMBO has gone off to earn me some more Hobby Vouchers.

Sub-zero forecast tonight.

This time last year we had heavy snowfall, too.

I blame this global cooling that has been carefully hidden from us.

Although it's fine and sunny here in Northern France, we have a strong and very cold Easterly wind blowing. An extended forecast I just looked at predicts temps down to -10c by Saturday night. This is why I get annoyed with friends in the UK who say, "well at least you'll be warmer living there" :mad:

Oh well, what a good job I managed to snaffle the last tonne of Belgian anthracite from my local supplier Time to put some on the Rayburn I think!!

Far fewer people burning coal/wood at home, nuclear power for leccy and many miles from any sea water. No surprise it's a whole different ball game on the continent.

As many will know I nip off to Chimay, Belgium each year for a long weekend of road-racing mid-July, and the second time I went, a friend thought he could cut back on the excess travel weight and sleep in his leathers in the tent - (rally virgin).
Unless you have a good sleeping bag to stave off the night time drop in temperatures some 200 miles inland, the 'holiday' aspect disappears rather quickly. (and the local brew really doesn't help)

Well last thusday then rain and storms finally came to us and Friday morning an almighty thunderbolt hit Souni vilage and damaged lnbs and digiboxes in the surrounding houses which are mainly owned by Brits. I replaced 3 Invacom quad lnb's and a digibox (2 more digiboxes blown,waiting for insurance man)I saw a tech friend in samevillage who also replaced 3 lnb's. Also tv's dvd's and computer blown and a delayed report of lnb/digibox blown today.
In another village a multiswitch blown and an 2 lnb's at other houses.
Rumours going round that I have a lightning making machine ;)
