Sp with the first storms of the winter being forecast its time to kick off the annual whinges about the weather :D I must measure our sunflowers too and see how tall they got before the wind knocks them over!

This 2021-2022 thread should have been started a lo..........ng time ago - think I said something like that much earlier in 2021! :-rofl2

PS: No "damage" here so far, but it's going to get cold & windy from the weekend, so got to "help" next door neighbour to fix part of his guttering where it "dips & drips" when it get's full of water - OTOH, in reality, I'll be standing on the bottom of the ladder and giving "useful advice" whilst he's up top! :rolleyes:

Simples!

"History" is that the thread starts towards the end of "Year 1" and ends earlyish in "Year 2", and the thread title reflects that, i.e. "Batten down the hatches winter Year 1 - Year 2" - thus "Batten down the hatches winter 2021 - 2022". :)
 
Even "down South", it's going to be very cold over the weekend - especially on Sunday, 4C max :oops:

My dishes will be coming down, there's three fence panels behind them that look ready to be shredded by the 75mph gusts :o
 
Mine should be fine as long as the 2 scaffold poles dont give way. They are very exposed though. :oops:

Will be interesting to see if the temporary Bilsdale mast survives after Arqiva previously warned it may not last the winter.

Can't even sniff it, despite it only being about 6 miles away as the fly crows.

The BBC article seems to think the red warning area only goes as far south as Newcastle, when the map shows it extending towards Middlesbrough.

Currently here there's heavy rain and a strong constant wind though the gusts aren't too bad yet.
 
All is calm in the North York Moors.
