There's definitely signal loss being reported in and around the UK which is where the North Sea beam is centered around, which doesn't make sense unless Telstar is a weaker satellite in comparison to SES & Eutelsat maybe ...
I remember that the signal worsened this time last year although not to this extent ...
 
I can confirm the BBC Satback signal has dropped by 3dB. On my 1.2 CM dish at both 27.5W and initially on 15W I used to get a C/N of 15dB. Now its 12dB.

Yes, streamed off a GTX Combo. Only did for a few seconds to obtain screen grab picture.

Here in the west of Ireland the signal has dropped significantly to 9.6 db = previously it showed virtually full signal on the receiver quality strength but was subject to some fluctuation - signal was not constant even then - slightly bouncing up and down. It is the same on the 1.1 motorised dish as on the fixed 1.1 both using Inverto black ultra quad LNBs, so I think something has definitely been done to the power output or the footprint has been tightened. This did happen once before but it came back to full strength.

So what do we think causes these temporary power drops? Failing satellite? Interference from a temporary feed on another beam? Problems with the uplink? Aliens sitting on the satellite? Or something else?

I don't think it is weather as it can work well even when it is cloudy and raining and disappear when the sky is clear.The weather is also not the same in all the different places that see the same rises and falls.
Perhaps the satellite drifts, but to save fuel, they don't correct until it affects the official target(s). "Satellites typically do not steer individual transponders"
 
Thanks to the developer, @Fey, with his application, Command line tool, Skyscraper8_release 13, we can now watch the encapsulated GS/TS, BBC, and BSBS/Navy TV streams under normal conditions, which we find at 15.0E, on MUX 12596 V, 45000, 3/4, 8PSK.
For now, these streams can only be played with 6903x/6909x cards.
To view these streams, Crazyscan and PowerShell are required on Windows, as shown in the video.

I tried with other cards, but I was unsuccessful. It is recommended to have a strong signal to ensure continuous streaming and avoid errors.

I want to take this opportunity to thank him for making his application available and for his willingness to "unravel" the encapsulated streams that we typically find on most satellites, which are very difficult to "exploit" using the usual means and applications. :Y
